SMJHL S50 Game 115 - VAN @ KEL

SMJHL Game 115 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Prince Devitt @CFJ
Team: Kelowna Knights
Victim: Bobby Bobcalf @nubbedindaribs
Team: Vancouver Whalers
Time: 10:02 of 1st period
Total possession time:  10:02
Hot po-take-to:

Here in the Taterlytics department we did not think Prince Devitt would keep the Potato for very long this game.  This top pairing defenseman for the Kelowna Knights isn't shy when it comes to the rough stuff: he is currently second on the team in hits and appears on the league's individual leader board for penalty minutes.  We figured Devitt would be looking to hand off the Potato from the opening puck drop, and we weren't disappointed.  Midway through the first period, the Knights found themselves in their own zone for a face off, which Vancouver ultimately controlled.  This must have angered Prince because he immediately put the hurt on Bobby Bobcalf of the Whalers with a bone crushing hit, dislodging the puck and putting the Potato in Bobby's pocket.  Bobby seemed a bit stunned by the ordeal, gazing at the Potato for a moment after realizing what he had, but he recovered and threw a quick shot on net for Vancouver.  Where will the Potato travel next?!

SMJHL Game 115 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Bobby Bobcalf @nubbedindaribs
Team: Vancouver Whalers
Victim: Ebenezer Virtanen @Zeddez
Team: Kelowna Knights
Time: 15:38 of 1st period
Total possession time:  5:36
Hot po-take-to:

This case was more shocking to the Taterlytics community as we didn't expect another first period exchange.  It isn't like Bobby Bobcalf doesn't hit (he currently has over 30 on the season), but compared to his teammates it seemed like he may take a little time to find his prey: four of his teammates currently hit more frequently than Bob squared.  But once again in the first period, directly after a face off, the Potato got hot and changed hands.  Ebenezer Virtanen was still focused on the puck as the result of the face off he just won when Bobcalf entered the circle and politely collided bodies with the young Knight.  Bobby barely knew the Potato yet there it went back to the Knights in the first period, what a game!

SMJHL Game 115 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Ebenezer Virtanen @Zeddez
Team: Kelowna Knights
Victim: N/A
Team: Vancouver Whalers
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  44:22

Folks, I think we are in for a long haul here.  Ebenezer Virtanen is not only a virtual lock to keep the Potato the rest of this game, but it will be tough to get the rookie to give it up at all.  The young center from Kelowna finds himself on the team's fourth line unfortunately, seeing only just under 9 minutes a game on the ice.  Currently, Ebenezer only has four total hits on the season, so he is not known for throwing his weight around.  There was a small uproar when Virtanen was hit later in the game, but it was deemed merely a hit against, and Virtanen carried the Potato to the locker room when the buzzer sounded to call the third period.  It may be smart for Kelowna to invest in some soil for the young spud possessor.

SMJHL S50 Game 120 - ANC @ KEL

SMJHL Game 120 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Ebenezer Virtanen @Zeddez
Team: Kelowna Knights
Victim: N/A
Team: Anchorage Armada
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  1:00:00
Hot po-take-to:

Oops he did it again.  Ebenezer Virtanen managed to hog the Potato to himself for an entire game this time, as he's clearly become fond of the Potato.  Ebenezer saw just over 9 minutes of ice time this game, but when he was on the ice he was fiercely inspired by the Potato when it came to face offs, winning 7 of 9 draws in his limited action.  Virtanen also sat two minutes in the penalty box, giving him ample time away from his teammates to whisper with the Potato.  He clearly likes the Potato, and I think we can expect he will do everything in his power to keep it to himself.  Invest in that soil!
