Especially after the greens did so well provincially here last year, it's a bummer to see us send 4 more liberals out to Ottawa like we always do. So much of the election cycle is made about the party leaders, even though Prime Minister doesn't carry the same weight as say a President, and then you get all these scared voters thinking "Trudeau has to go" or "Scheer can't win" ... ugh it's so frustrating. Two party systems don't work for the people, they work for the parties.

IDK about Canada but it took like 4 months after the elections to get our government sorted out to decide who would be the prime minister. Having multiple semi big parties is hell. Dodgy

Here in PEI we had a referendum on switching to a mixed-member proportional representation system, but the "no" vote managed to convince people that it would somehow give MORE power to the big parties' backrooms, and disenfranchise rural voters further. Never mind the fact that common sense would tell you that if the big parties are supporting the "no" vote, then it's not going to give them more power. Neither of the two parties in a two-party system is going to change the rules, but this red vs blue thing seems impossible to shake.

Yeah, every argument I've seen against proportional representation of any kind is flimsy at best.

and people eat it up! It's crazy. Like some people around here legit thought the proposal for MMP was a power grab by the provincial Liberals (who were in power at the time).

You'd think the federal libs using it to get elected a majority then not following through with it would give people a sign too

@Samee idk if you're confused or what but ok
@SecondSucks22 So apparently having an alternative political opinion is a bad take? Sorry, but not everyone holds Trudeau/Singh in high regard. In fact, a large portion of the country doesn't (see the popular vote).
@notorioustig In awe of its accuracy or?

Every major party planned to spend like crazy, even the Conservatives. At least we have a PM that's just slightly corrupt and not looking to absolutely gut the economy. Might happen though if he doesn't make amends with Alberta.

Explain how the conservatives are liberals.
