SHL S50 Game 304 - WIN @ MIN

SHL Game 304 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Eric Pelletier @Shmurph
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Victim: Slip McScruff @Scrufdaddy
Team: Winnipeg Jets
Time: 1:55 of 1st period
Total possession time:  1:55
Hot po-take-to:

After this quick dish off it is clear that Eric Pelletier was sick of the Hot Potato trophy and he wanted to get rid of it as quickly as possible.  Pelletier began the game against the Jets on the bench, but after a stoppage in play his line jumped over the boards for an offensive zone faceoff.  Pelletier managed to win the faceoff for the Chiefs, who wasted no time in firing a shot at the net.  Using the shot as a distraction, Pelletier stalked Slip McScruff and laid a glancing blow on McScruff to keep the puck in the offensive zone and pass off the Potato trophy that Pelletier had been hoarding.  Slip McScruff was dazed, not from the impact of the hit, but at the Potato trophy he was left holding in his hands as the Balls man took a shot.  Luckily for the Jets, Slip quickly regained his composure and returned to play.

SHL Game 304 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Slip McScruff @Scrufdaddy
Team: Winnipeg Jets
Victim: Mathias Seger @Segi
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Time: 5:08 of 1st period
Total possession time:  3:13
Hot po-take-to:

Slip McScruff probably had the most lucrative success per minute with the Potato that I have ever seen.  Seeing McScruff with the Potato really galvanized the Winnipeg Jets, less than two minutes later Jason Visser would make the game 1-0 in favor of the visiting Jets.  Then, a mere nine seconds after their first goal, the Jets would go up 2-0 thanks to a Ignatius Blunt snipe.  On the ensuing face off we saw the other four Jets players approach Slip before the puck was put into play.  We are guessing that they pointed to past Potato curses and demanded that Slip not test his luck.  After a little half-hearted argument, Slip would line up an occupied Mathias Seger and run him into the boards.  Seger was a bit angry as Blunt had just laid a hit on him moments before, but we couldn't help but notice his smile when he held the Potato.

SHL Game 304 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Mathias Seger @Segi
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Victim: Willy Mack @Mack
Team: Winnipeg Jets
Time: 18:21 of 1st period
Total possession time:  13:13
Hot po-take-to:

Seger had an up and down experience with the Potato this game.  Even though Mathias was only the Potato owner for just over 13 minutes, that time saw both teams score a goal.  Seger was fired up after the Chiefs' first goal of the game, yelling praises to the great Potato from the bench.  He followed that up with a strong shift, getting a shot off and causing general havoc in the Jets' zone.  Tempers flared a bit when Seger was hit by Commander Shepard quite violently.  Seger grumbled to himself as he got up, muttering about how he was the one that was supposed to do the hitting.  He was not destined to hold the Potato for long after that.  Late in the first period, Seger charged in after a face off and creamed Willy Mack, jarring the puck free.  Seger stood over Mack, dropping the Potato into Mack's lap with a grin, but little did he realized that Nick Brain was in the process of burying the Jets' fourth goal of the frame.  The frustration for Seger was evident, as he took a penalty less than a minute later to finish the first period.  It looks like Seger was too focused on the Potato.

SHL Game 304 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Willy Mack @Mack
Team: Winnipeg Jets
Victim: N/A
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  41:39
Hot po-take-to:

We really can't blame Willy Mack for holding onto the Potato for the rest of this game, after a 4 goal outburst in the first period I wouldn't want to change much either.  It looks like it was a good move for Mack and the Jets, the score of 4-1 held through the end of the game and the Jets were victorious on the road.  Mack ended up playing a spectacular 22 minutes for the Jets, picking up an assist on their third goal and spending a ton of time on their power play.  If the Jets continue to play well, Mack will have even more incentive to keep the Potato around as a good luck charm.  He currently has 16 hits on the season, so this could be an extended relationship.

SHL S50 Game 310 - WIN @ LAP

SHL Game 310 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Willy Mack @Mack
Team: Winnipeg Jets
Victim: N/A
Team: Los Angeles Panthers
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  1:03:00
Hot po-take-to:

No surprise here as Willy Mack possess the Potato for an entire game (including overtime).  The Winnipeg Jets did lose in OT, but they must be happy with the point on the road.  They also have to be happy with the game they got from Potato commander Willy Mack as he potted the Jets' third goal and lobbed a team high 6 shots on net.  Adding in his shot block, Mack had a very good game even if he wanted to keep the Potato to himself.  With 3 points in 2 road games you have to imagine the Winnipeg Jets are fine with Willy Mack having a new friend in the Hot Potato.
