Plug of the Game:

We kick off this week's edition with a close matchup, where the St. Louis Scarecrows hosted the Detroit Falcons. The game was relatively even the entire way, and it took a shootout to finally decide the winner... there was no real TRUE plug this time. However, Ruslan Zaporozhets for the Scarecrows was basically invisible for the entirety of the game. Logging precisely 17 minutes of ice time, he managed to log no shots, no points, +/- of 0, no blocked shots, no giveaways or takeaways. The only statistic that showed him even at the game last night was a lone hit, coming during the middle of the second period.

Shootout Drama

The shootout started strong for St. Louis. You always want to score with that first shot and get the momentum, because that's a huge confidence boost. It shows the goalie is beatable and seeing the goalie get beaten so early was what tipped the scales there in my opinion and let St. Louis win. Barrett Blackwood deserves a lot of credit for scoring that goal and pulling off a good play perfectly. However Detroit did almost make it exciting with one of their own and it went to sudden death, but just having that early boost gave St. Louis the winning edge. Aron Hernadivic got the winning goal and that was the game.
