So, as a long name activist, I think for my PT I would love to analyze second year SMJHL player Kalevolaripaavo Kaspertommevisnapuu. He is currently 8th in most shots, and 5th among all right wingers in scoring. Let's see how he's changed in just one season.

the player in question, I'll call him KK for short, has definitely worked on his shooting game. While we only see an increase of 11 points (5 goals and 6 assists), We can see that KK has certainly trended towards a shoot first mentality. His 172 shots was a 107% increase from his rookie season. He may not have converted on the increase in shots, but he has quickly become Kelowna's leading option for goal scoring, and has developed an identity as a sniper.

Another major noticeable improvement is his physical game. In his rookie season, KK got bullied on the ice: he was hit more than twice than what he dished out. However, the stats sheet shows a very different story now. He dished out 56 hits, and only was on the receiving end of 42. He may not be a big bruiser, but he has certainly filled out, and shows a two way tenacity that could make him a valuable PK guy, shown as he was put on the top PK line in Kelowna this season.

Atlas Rush

Rookie Season
·        Goals: 1
·        Assists: 3
·        Plus/Minus: -3
·        Hits: 109

Season 50
·        Goals: 21
·        Assists: 20
·        Plus/Minus: -10
·        Hits: 159
As you can see for Atlas Rush, time has honed his power game. Over the course of his four seasons in the SJHL, he has shown a marked improvement. Posting a hefty increase of 20 Goals, and 17 more Assists than in his rookie season. Unfortunately for Atlas, these increases came at a bit of a price as his Plus/Minus ratio took a steep dive down to -10 from his rookie posting of -3. Where Atlas’ power game really shined in this season though was in the number of Hits he posted. He posted a +50 increase to go from 109 to 159 for the season. Not only did this substantial increase allow Atlas to post some mighty impressive stats, it also allowed him to become the League Leader for Hits this season. Kudos to you Mr. Rush.

Big Bad Barrett Blackwood has become a fantastic mentor for Ruslan Zaporozhets. Both men are 6'1", both snipers on the wing, and both had confidence while pushing to be the best. Comparing rookie years is a bit unfair as Blackwood had to make due with 4th line minutes, putting up 6 Goals and 3 helpers for 9 points, while Zapo has made a name for himself on lines 2 and 3 putting up 15 goals and another 12 helpers for 27 points. In his sophomore year, Barrett jumped up over 40 points. (A 30 point increase) If he can do that, maybe the future will look rather bright for Ruslan, especially when you see the ridiculous 63 point season Blackwood was able to have this year. Ruslan has a lot to learn but maybe he can continue the great St. Louis sniper tradition that Barrett and others hold before him.

My loveable absolute bruiser bear Bjorn Leppanen has been fighting even since his rookie season not making it on to any leaderboards except penalty mins with 64 minutes in 50 games as the scappy bear has become a vet hes learned to hit people without getting caught.....or at least bribe the refs either way he ended with only 55 minutes this season. Of course thats not where it ends in his rookie year he wasnt big on fights he had only 1 winning it of course thats where the thirst for blood came from coming out with 4 total fights topping both fights won and total fights leaderboards winning half of them. This season the veteran leppanen decided he should do a little more then just fight and boost moral this time he made sure to hit the puck too blocking a magnificent 62 shots in the regular season. i hope to be a mad lad like him.

Patrick Niederreiter was drafted by Anaheim back in S 47. At that time Patrick Niederreiter only got 5 Games played and went 2-3. He also had a 0.846 save percentage and a 4.44 goals against average. Anaheim went on to win the 4 star cup that season.

Since then Anaheim has been a solid team every season minus one. They have had solid goaltending and Patrick Niederreiter has been an important piece of that.

This past season Patrick Niederreiter played 33 games and went 16 - 13 - 3. He had a 0.891 Save Percentage and had a 2.83 save percentage. With a call up coming soon, the numbers are a huge difference from his rookie season. This is something many rookie goalies can aspire to be. Especially one White Goodman, who is coming from a backup role to take the starters job. Time will tell if he can have continuous progress but we think he will.

The one... the only... THIEF OF CHEESE Ivan Maximus himself was drafted with the 9th overall pick of the draft by the Anaheim Outlaws in the 49th season of the SMJHL. Right off the bat, he was thrust into the first line playing around 18 minutes per game. Luckily for Anaheim that was the right move as Maximus would produce a stat line of:

G: 7
A: 22
SHT %: 9.72%
PPP: 9
H: 52

Now that Maximus had a great rookie season under his belt and we head into the 50th SMJHL season Anaheim looked to him to carry more the offensive load as they provided him with 2 extra minutes and named him alternate captain of the team. Once again Maximus showed his worth as he had a massive improvement with a stat line of:

G:18
A: 30
SHT %: 13.43%
PPP: 12
H: 107

With an amazing improvement of 11 goals, 8 assists, 3.71% shot percent, 3 power-play points, and a whopping 55 hits Maximus was able to help his team achieve a 4th place regular-season record.
