Season 49 - Colorado Raptors Team Awards

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, you did read the title right. This is the Season 49 Colorado Raptors award show, not the season 50 because we like to be fashionably late.
All awards other than the statistical award are voted on by the players and alumni so the peers get to award who they believe truly deserves the recognition for their successful season. Without further ado here is the statistical award.

The first award of the night is the Top Offensive Forward.
This award goes to the forward who scored the most points throughout the regular season.
This seasons winner is a veteran who notched 19 goals and 32 assists for 51 points.
The winner is...

Calogero Crudelli!

Crudelli was the backbone of the Colorado Raptors offence throughout the season. He has an 8 point lead over the 2nd highest point getter on the team. He also managed to put up an impressive 16 powerplay points. Crudelli's 51 points was good enough to place him 3rd in the league for scoring.

The second award of the night will be the Team Leadership Award.
This award goes to the player who excelled in the leadership aspect of the game.
The winner of the award is voted on by his/her peers.
This seasons winner was also elected to be the teams captain.
The winner is...

Bo Kane!

The third award of the night will be The Alexander Zajac Trophy.
This award goes to the most dedicated player.
This seasons winner completed all TPE tasks available and was a constant factor around the team and league.
The winner is...

Bo Kane!

The fourth award of the night will be The Colton Hagan Trophy.
This award goes to the forward who excelled at both ends of the ice.
This season the voting ended in a tie. One player was a huge factor on the teams penalty kill while the other was a two-way machine 5 on 5.
The winners are...

Bo Kane and Emeka Valentine Okoli!

Okoli had a successful campaign finishing with a +10 while being matched against opposing teams top lines. He allowed Crudelli to be more creative and to put up offensive numbers. Okoli also managed to pot 36 points. Kane played the most penalty kill minutes on the team with 134. He was relied on upon heavily defensively and still managed to pot 43 points on the season.

The fifth award of the night is The Kristoffer Ruud Trophy.
This award goes to the top defenseman for the season.
This seasons winner played a team high 21.81 minutes a night, with both powerplay and penalty kill ice-time. He managed to put up 39 points and a +5. He finished 5th in defenseman scoring in the league.
This years winner is...

Derek Bohne Jr!

Derek Bohne Jr was a top first round pick for the Colorado Raptors and it looks like they picked right. Bohne Jr was relied on in all aspects of the game and he delivered. He was one of the impressive pieces in a disappointing season for the Raptors.

The sixth award of the night is The Aleksandr Aleksandrov Trophy.
This award goes to the teams top goaltender in the regular season.
This years winner managed to put together a winning record on a weak Raptors squad.
The winner is...

Knox Booth!

Booth was one of the top goalie prospects in the league and was shortly called up the SHL after the season 49 campaign concluded.

The seventh award of the night is the Top Rookie Award.
This award goes to the teams rookie who excelled the most.
This years winner finished the season with 9 goals and 14 assists for 23 points.
The winner is...

Henrik Lekberg Osterman!

Osterman was the Colorado Raptors 52nd overall pick in the season 49 SMJHL entry draft. Osterman is going to be a huge part of the Raptors future core. After this successful campaign, Osterman's stock jumped and he was drafted 3rd overall in the SHL entry draft.

The eighth award of the night is The Zinaida Titova Trophy.
This award goes to the regular season MVP.
The winner of this award had a break out year. He potted the team high 20 goals while also compiling 23 assists for 43 points on the year.
The winner is...

Bo Kane!

The ninth and final award of the night is the Scottey Crawfling Bowl.
This award goes to the playoff MVP.
This years winner was a force in the playoffs for the Raptors. He managed to put up 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points in 7 games while being a +3. The next closest player had 5 points.
The award goes to...

Bo Kane!

That is all for the season 49 team awards!  The season 50 awards won't be as delayed, don't worry.
