Outlaws tame the Lions on center ice! (322 Words)

ANAHEIM — In an anticipated game against the division rival Lethbridge Lions, the Anaheim Outlaws bounced back from their loss against St. Louis by defeating Lethbridge 4-2 on Tuesday night at The Saloon Arena.

With the win, Anaheim moves to 2-1 on the pre-season and snapped the Lions' two game winning streak.  The Outlaws also go up 1-0 on this years rivalry statistics.

The Outlaws struck first in the first period as Leonid Kofix scored on a power-play goal.  His third of the year so far.  The Lions however bounced back seven minutes on a power-play goal of their own scored by Jack Wilson, his first of the year.

Play stayed reasonably balanced in the second period as the Lions jumped to a 2-1 lead on a score by "Face of the Franchise", their first of the year and was later tied back up on a goal by Outlaw Alternate Ivan Maximus, his first of the year.

The Outlaws sealed the deal in the third however with nearly back-to-back goals by Kofix, his 4th of the pre-season followed up by Kevin Robinson, his second of the year.  While the offense found the back of the net, the Outlaws rookie goaltender, Strom Chamberlain, closed the cage on the Lions with a final tally of 22 saves on 24 shots.

Kofix finished with two goals while Gutierrez notched up three assists to lead Anaheim. Maximus and Robinson also chalked up a goal apiece while Petrenko, Riley, Pritchard and Zimmerman all tossed in assists for the win.

The two teams will face off again in five days as the Lions come back to the Saloon.

Anaheim will be heading off next to Vancouver to try and spear the Whalers on Wednesday before a break on Thanksgiving.  They'll resume play on Friday as they get high in Colorado against the Raptors.
