S51 PT #4 - Holiday Wish List
#16

Phineas Gold has already received most the things he needs in life currently. He plays for the SMJHL, he is captain of the greatest team in existence, and he lives in a nice apartment in North Carolina. So when he thinks of gifts that he would like it comes down to one thing. He wants to be able to support his best friend, Ice. If you do not remember, Ice is Phineas’s dog that has been his loyal companion throughout his entire career. Ice lately has been chewing through all his toys in desperation because Phineas has been spending more time at practice than he expected. The Krakens contest with the Armada has been taking a toll on their relationship, so Phineas asks for a 2 pairs of doggy skates so that Ice can join him for practice. Ice has always like being the real life example of air bud and therefore would be a boon for the team and their practice. So please, gift us ice skates so that my partner can join me for my practices.

I always love the holidays, it’s such a great time of the year. When it comes to what I would like, I think there are probably a couple of things I would choose from, but right now the decision is clear. Asking for more TPE is probably what most people will say, so it’s not the direct route I’m going to go in.

For the holidays, I would like to have a do over on my fantasy league swap. Seems like a strange request to some, but that do over could get me 10 TPE. I made an early season swap which has not worked out very well for me right now, and if I had done what I originally wanted to do and not made the move so hastily, I would probably be holding down the 1st place position in my group. So, while it’s not directly asking for TPE, it kind of is.

I’d also like to get another point soon and help the Panthers win a game. Gotta get out of this slide to get in to the playoffs and win my parlay!

Christmas in St. Louis will be an interesting change for Aron "Fish" Hernadivic, as he is used to the cold and bitter winters of the homeland. This year for Christmas, Fish has called up Santa and asked for a couple of things.

The first wish on Fish's List is for countries to take climate change more seriously. Fish has a bunch of friends in the sea that are being deeply affected by the warming atmosphere turning the ocean more acidic, and doesn't want to see his friends forced to relocate, fight harder for survival, or even die out. Fish loves his friends of the sea.

Secondly, as a prospect of Buffalo, Fish sees all the good Tomen does for the league and for Buffalo, and is sad to see it being dragged down by the heathen that is WannaBeFinn, and so Fish is hopping on the #LeeOut bandwagon. However, when Buffalo makes the playoffs as the final seed and runs all the way to winning the Challenge Cup, the #LeeIn movement will be in full force.

This year Alex Mack can’t ask for more this year, he just bought a beautiful home for 60k less than the asking price in a town known to most as having residents from TV’s film and Movies as well as Musicians both classically trained and Rock stars. Basically, his neighbor can know give private rock concerts in my barn. Thinking about what I really need I guess I could come up with a few things, I need bathroom accessories like that body blow dryer and heat lamps for the ladies, I could also use some new artwork for my walls preferably horses or chickens to match my French Farmhouse theme. I will be buying Esa Anrikkenen a pizza oven so I know I will be seeing a lot of him in the near future. I could also use some seeds so I can start growing my own weed in my new greenhouse. Life is good, Merry Christmas!

I’m not much of a gift giver to be honest. My whole life I’ve always been the one who doesn’t receive gifts, so I just stopped trying for a long time. The past few years since I have come back from South Korea, I have tried to change that a little bit. I mostly just get gifts for my parents. There was one year I tried to get gifts for my brothers, and I did… I gave them both very nice gifts for both their birthday’s and Christmas. Neither of them reciprocated. I am the one of my parent’s kids who takes the lead on the gifts now. Last year we gave our dad a promise that we would take him to Paisley Park to see where Prince recorded… with all three of his kids. That… uh… didn’t happen. So this year, I felt really bad about it and we’re giving him a make-up gift… which is an Oculus Quest, case, and a few games. My dad won’t play a lot of games with it… but I do know he wants one for three reasons. One, he LOVES poker and my brother and I play Pokerstars VR literally every day… so now he can play with us (which in previous conversations he had said it was something he would love to do). The second reason is that earlier this year he tried my Rift S and enjoyed it, and the third… VR porn. We showed him some last year on the Oculus Go and he was pretty stoked about it.

What I want for Christmas that I can't have: My fiancee's kitten of 8 months had to be put down on Thursday due to a fatal disease. I'd give nearly anything for her to have him back. Little Mac made her so happy and and he deserved to have a much longer life for being such a good cat.

What I want for Christmas that I can have:  An HTC Vive VR headset. This is definitely something that I will/would enjoy, but it's also something I want for my fiancee. I really want to play Beat Saber cause I'm super into games like guitar hero (even though I was terrible at them), this seems like it'll be way better. There are HUGE libraries of songs that other people have put together for others to play. My fiancee also loves Skyrim so I think she'd have a really good time playing that in VR. One of Skyrim's worst properties is its combat, hopefully actually being able to shoot arrows, cast spells and swing your weapons will fix that.

If Knox Booth could have any gift for this Christmas it would be to have the Los Angeles Panthers win a playoff round this upcoming playoffs. Yes, it is absolutely possible that the Panthers will have more success than just winning a single round in the playoffs, but if Knox could sign off on a guarantee this season by receiving one free round as a gift- he would take it. The Panthers have all the makings to be a successful team with loads of depth and scoring, some sick ass defense and a stellar goaltending tandem, and now has come the time for the Panthers to reap the rewards. So Santa, if you’re listening, do the SHL world a favor by rewarding the Panthers with a playoff round win so that we can taste the sweetness of success by moving forward in the playoffs and doing some damage to our rivals teams. After all, Christmas only comes once a year, and so do the playoffs. Happy Holidays!

Skao Anazibf is a slut for material wealth and possession something he's learned since being given his PHAT $7,000,000 deal from the Hamilton Steelhawks, so he's asking for everything this Christmas. We're talking Rolex's, we're talking the new Apple Mac Pro with fully maxed specs (retailing at $52,000) and use it for nothing more than just tweeting about how rich he is, we're talking those airpods coated in gold so he can flex when entering the arena. He's been really good this year so that he makes the nice list, by being more friendly and not calling hallsy a fucking idiot as much anymore. Santa's gotta take note of this behaviour, and Anazibf is confident he will reap blessings this year because of it. Also Santa, forget to mention one little thing. A ring! FOUR OF THEM! ANAZIBF WANTS AN AUDI BABY!

Bonjourno Santa,

For myself, I already know a little bit of what I'm getting. Not all of it but some of it for sure. Some whispers told me that it could be a new headset for the good ole xbox One and someone told you that maybe I'd find an iPad useful. Guess we'll find out because I'm thinking that's what some of my gifts are. Maybe some good clothes - sweaters, shirts - maybe cologne. I think we got a carpet cleaner from my mother and some other good shit too. Santa has been real kind to us this year. Santa is a good man. Or whoever drops off them presents under our tree. A few days ago we have 10 under that bad boy. Mom dropped a bunch off so likely have 15-20 right now under that bad boy. Christmas is good.

For Hiro Fujikawa, overrated asian on the SHL's Panthers, he's gonna want to asian up his LA pad to make things feel more like home. The Brick, Ikea and Best Buy have all agreed to partner up with Fujikawa this holiday season o showcase some of their best shit for asian people on these fine, holiday days. Have you ever wanted a koi fish pond in your backyard or maybe even a built in one for your downstairs living area? $2,699 at Best Buy. You want a fake pink cherry tree thing that you see by that one mountain in that asian country? $29.99 Ikea. How about some chinese looking couches and furniture and some dragons and stuff? Well, you can find all that asian stuff at the Brick, man.

Lastly, Fujikawa wants everyone to have a good Christmas, happy holidays and hope they get to spend it however the hell they want to. I'm excited for the food. We're Ukrainian so look the hell out. Perogies, Cabbage Rolls, Cabbage Soup, Borscht if it floats your boat - depends for me, haha. FUCK YEAH CHRISTMAS! CIAO.

Phelps has already written Santa asking for a new stick about 2 weeks ago when his shooting percentage was below 5%, but it has since improved and he may regret asking for that stick since he seems to be putting up points in almost every game for the last while, much to the ire of Fantasy players who had already dropped Phelps after he struggled coming out of the gate this season. I think at this point the only things Phelps wants for Christmas are team success and maybe some more individual success. Anything that could lead to a cup or an award. With the end of his career looming he is really aiming to add more hardware to his trophy cabinet before it's all said and done. Maybe a stick will help, but really I think the best thing to wish for is just good luck this coming year.

Write about what you (or your player) would like to receive as a holiday gift! Or write about what you (or your player) would give to another SHL user (or player) as a holiday gift for them. (minimum 150 words).

Jimmy Slothface does not have a ton of items on his holiday wish list, but he does have a few important ones. First, he could go for a couple new stuffed animals from various claw machines around the SHL cities (won by Olivier Cloutier of course). It is a bit of a tradition at this point and the cuddle corner (where Jimmy likes to wind down) could be more populated. Next, a bit of nylon roping makes the list. It may seem weird at first, but Jimmy did buy a very old house in New Orleans after his big contract, and the house does need a lot of work and things to be tied down. Especially in the attic area. So honestly that is just a practical item on the wishlist, nothing weird going on there. Finally, Jimmy hopes to spend the holidays with Olivier Cloutier, as that would be the best present that Jimmy could ask for over the holidays. He doesn't need much besides that to be honest.

He also could go for a New Orleans Specters championship in Season 51, but he is not TOO greedy. After his individual award nomination last season (even though he did not win), Jimmy is ready for the team playoff success to come as well.

My list of gifts to give to my Blizzard teammates, in G-minor:

Teddy Cuddles: A walker because this old man is headed straight to the retirement home. Don't want him to break a hip climbing up those steps.

Julio Tokolosh: A passing tutor. Mans is on my line, he needs to work on feeding me the puck so I can get my goal total up.

Tony Pepperoni: Shoulder press machine. I'm gonna need him to strengthen up his shoulders so he can carry this team and let me relax on the second line and coast in my twilight years.

Tommy Tuck: A picture of my Anton Razov Trophy. The only trophy he's missing for his cabinet, so I'll let him admire mine.

Conor Tanner: A permission slip from his junior team. I need him to get the call up so I can move back to the wing and lower my on-ice responsibilities.

Tor Tuck: A Stevens for this season. My man has been crushing opponents all over the ice and needs his just recognition.

For Christmas, Anthony Archer needs a new stick. He doesn't need any stick from Santa, he needs a durable one. Archer is currently rocking a 3.8 BSPG average (Broken Sticks Per Game), and is the current leader for said imaginary stat in the SHL. Since Archer's arrival into the league, as this is his rookie season, Archer has had numerous broken sticks from diving into plays and letting his physicality become known early, ultimately leading from twigs being broken from stray sticks or getting jammed between him and other players in the boards. Not only has this 'bat out of hell' play style led Archer to so many broken sticks but as well as his frustration as he enters his rookie slump. Archer currently has 11 points on file, with 4 of them being goals but as he enters the midway point of the season he's finding himself approaching that 'rookie slump' everyday where it becomes harder to score no matter what he does. Archer averages a 1.0 BSPG from frustration alone.

Anthony Archer - S49 12th Overall
1x IIHF Silver Medalist (S51)
2x WJC Gold Medalist (S48, S49)
2x Four Star Cup Finalist (S48, S50)

Well, when it comes to gifts, I think you always have to consider the other person. I think you want to find something that they really want or need. Maybe I would want to get somethign hockey related to make me a better player. If someone wants to buy my training or equipment for me that would be awesome. Maybe getting a stick or new skates would be an awesome gift. But in general, I also think experience based gifts are best for people, because then you get to do something with them and enjoy that. Maybe you go to a pub quiz together or you end up doing something like an escape room, which can be a great bonding experience as well and kinda make you excited to hang out with people while doing a new experience together. In the end, it doesn't matter what you do, it is the thought that counts, so just consider what you want to do for people around you and get a good gift!
