Hey there SHL, hope you guys are having a great Friday and fun playoffs!
The FHM transition is fast approaching and with it is gonna require some insight on what will change and what will stay the same using an entirely new engine for our simming. The first of those is gonna be a clarification on the roster sizes and limitations for both the SHL and SMJHL!
SHL
The new roster size is 17 dressed players, which will include 15 skaters and 2 goalies. This acts as the minimum AND maximum an SHL team can dress on any given day for game sims. The roster has room for up to 20 players, so GMs will be able to hold 3 players of any position to keep scratched so as to keep their dressed players at 17 total. This scratched slot will ideally be used for IAs on the roster and extra goalies.
SMJHL
The roster size is going to be 20 dressed players, which will include 18 skaters and 2 goalies. The total roster size will be 23 players, allowing for GMs to hold up to 3 additional players of any position to keep scratched so as to keep their dressed roster at 20. Like the SHL, this will be used to keep IFAs on the roster, but will allow SMJHL GMs some wiggle room to sign emergency backups in the case of an SHL call up.
Both the SHL HO and SMJHL HO teams worked with the GMs of their respective leagues to reach these numbers, so hopefully there is no miscommunication in regards to how rosters will be handled in the FHM era. Big thank you to all the HO members for your work, and to the GMs for your timely replies and your patience.

This will allow GMs greater flexibility in larger drafts AND give them additional spots to bring in an emergency back up goalie in the event of a call up. Sorry for the quick change, love you all.
