S52 WJC Bronze Medal Game - Sweden vs World
#1

Welcome to the S52 WJC Bronze Medal Game
Sweden SWEDEN vs WORLD Shl

Sweden Sweden wasn't looking too hot in the round robin, but trounced DACH 4-1 in a major upset to move on in the medal round. Unfortunately their Cinderella story stopped short after a heartbreaking 4-3 overtime loss to UCORCAL.
Shl World did well in the medal rounds and looked like they were going to coast their way into the finals after a convincing 3-1 win over USA. They were however given a taste of their own medicine by Canada who would beat them 3-1.

Puck drop will be at 9 EST.

Maybe like mathematically in terms of population (maybe?), but certainly not in things that matter like King Carl per capita.

The game is about to start...
We have Rintarou Okabe and Henrik Lundqvist Jr. in the faceoff.

Okabe passes to Owens who dumps it into Sweden territory.
Lundqvist scoops it up there and then ices it.
Cerullo take the faceoff now against Lundqvist Jr.
.
.
.
Lunqvist fails again and Cerullo takes the puck.

Cerullo passes back to Okabe. The two are really hogging the puck. Okabe brings it into open space - Is he going for the shot?
HE SHOOTS

HUUVERI GLOVES IT.
The Swedish goaltender looks cool and collected. It won't be that easy to score on Jerry today.

Hellquist wins the faceoff.
He passes to Meszaros.
But Magnus Liljestrom knocks him on his ass!
World somehow regains posession.
Meszaros to Minamino.
Minamino to - Intercepted by Liljestrom!
Liljestrom to - Intercepted by Scianna!
Someone hold on to the puck please!

More quick passing
Halloway to Minamino, Minamino back to Scianna, Scianna back to Halloway
Halloway loses his footing but aims for the net...

Okabe wins the faceoff against Hammarberg.
But Hammarberg doesn't like that! He makes a big hit on Okabe.
