Ace Dickenson Tried for Abduction of Fred Wanesly; Pleads Guilty in Strange Plea Deal

Monday, March 30, 2020        Detroit, MI
Ace Dickenson, a small-time hockey journalist for the sports page of the Bradford Times, was tried for the abduction of Detroit Falcons player Fred Wanesly this past Friday at the 36th District Court. Mr. Dickenson was arrested earlier this month by Sgt. Greg Clark of the Detroit Police Department. Sgt. Clark reportedly found Dickenson desperately trying to get people in a corner coffee shop to read his latest article; the article that made him a wanted man in the first place. No one seemed interested.

In a strange turn of events, the original prosecutor for the case, James Ustice, was removed from the case. J. Ustice had this to say about the change:
"It seemed like an easy enough case. The fool had written down his crimes and published them to a newspaper. We almost considered not even bringing in Mr. Wanesly for a testimony. There must be something strange going on behind the scenes here, because I could have very easily locked him away for a while. I don't know why they took me off of the trial and I certainly did not expect this outcome of the case."
But what was this unexpected outcome J. Ustice was talking about? Well, as it turns out, Mr. Ustice's replacement for prosecutor happens to be quite the hockey fan. The aptly named Hans Dangler offered Mr. Dickenson an extremely unusual plea bargain within hours of being named the new prosecutor. Dangler's plea bargain included suggesting to the presiding judge that instead of a jail sentence, Ace Dickenson should instead serve the community in or to give back for his heinous crime.
We have heard that Ace Dickenson and his lawyers responded to the plea bargain within three minutes of receiving it. As fate would have it, the presiding judge, the Honorable Judge Edna Kurtz, agree with the prosecution's suggestion. It is now official, Ace Dickenson, who kidnapped and interrogated Fred Wanesly, has walked free with community service. His community service, as suggested by the prosecution, is to serve as a journalist and correspondent to the newly formed SJHN, or Simulation Junior Hockey Network.
Look out for SJHN interviews and articles written by Ace Dickenson for the next few years as he serves out his sentence.
