Every year we see surprises at the Entry Draft. This year was no exception. Perhaps most notably was the fall of the coveted Czech Right Wing Michal Pivonka who went undrafted despite his renowned playmaking ability.

Pivonka, has shown his dynamic skating and puck handling ability as well as a knack for finding the open man, time and time again. So why did he fall completly off the board?

Perhaps, it was the controversy around his birth certificate and his eligibility?
Perhaps, teams were worried about his lack of physical play?
Perhaps, it was his defensive deficiencies?

Whatever the reason, Pivonka is set to become a Free Agent, and will surely generate interest from teams around the League. His endurance, passing and skating will be highly sought after and he could end up as the ultimate steal in this Draft.
