User's perspective : With a season on FHM in the books and a free redistribution gifted by HO for the offseason, what did you decide to change about your player build? Did you drastically change your build from last season? If so, why? Are you going to be trying to fit into a new role this season? What did you learn from last season's pilot run?
Player's perspective : What did your coaches ask you to focus on this offseason? Is there anything you're hoping to do better than you did last season? How will you be altering your on-ice play for this season and what did you do in the offseason to prepare you for that?? Are you going to be trying to fit into a new role this season?
Graphic task : How did you train a specific skill during the offseason? If there was one specific skill you focused extra on in the offseason, what sort of (conventional or unconventional) workouts did you do to improve that facet of your game?
Pick one of the above tasks; the written tasks must be at least 150 words and the graphic task must include a player render and team logo.

After last season, I was excited to get to training again. My coaches had a lot in mind for me. I probably won't be altering my role too heavily, but I will just work on improving the qualities that I already excel in. I definitely need to work on my shooting accuracy, for starters. Even though I was on fire last season, I know I have a long way to go before I reach SHL-quality shooting, and that starts with hitting the target more. I also am working on my screening abilities, as finding and making space for the team is key. The last attributes that I know I need to train harder in are faceoffs and defensive positioning. I may have been performing alright overall, but I need to focus on my center-specific abilities to take my game to the next level. If I can be above 50% faceoff success rate this season, I know I'll be happy.

After last season I had the opportunity to really look over my build, especially given the fact that I could use up to 425TPE for the upcoming season as opposed to only 350TPE for the last one. I didn't make any drastic changes, but it gave me a really good opportunity to outline where I'm planning on going with my player and how I can make him more of an offensive impact on the team. It was incredibly beneficial to be able to get the extra TPE from the new stamina changes as it allowed me to raise my getting open skill alone up by a point which I think will be incredibly helpful. The majority of my changes this season were for padding up my offensive skills, as well as working on my defensive ones as well to make sure that it's well rounded however more focused toward being a offensive threat.

Prior to the offseason, I think I had settled pretty much on building a power forward. The idea of being on the box score, play by play and having numbers in all kinds of numbers really stood out for me. Whether that was scoring, assisting, tips, hits....just wanted to have it all. Found that while testing that the numbers were certainly there, it felt a little bland but maybe because of the numbers I was looking at.
Another reason to go towards the whole power forward idea is that my original hope was to be that big body that would hold onto the puck but also be able to distribute with key passes. However with other playmakers on my team, combined with how FHM isn't friendly to playmakers in general as a role, I had to either key into the the big scoring winger or in a different role that FHM offered.
At the end of it all, I think I found a similar role that has the offensive flair but still maintains that physical domination in all features from skating to strength. Hopefully it all pans out this season.

I took my Agility, Offensive Read, Face Offs, Defensive Read, and Screening stats down a bit in order to boost Shot Accuracy, Shot Blocking, and Speed. With the minimum Stamina adjustment, I put the points right back into Stamina to increase that. A lot changed, but not by much.
I'm still a Playmaker/Counterattacking Center. This build could very well be worse, but I want to put a little more emphasis on being able to score goals and set them up this season.
Last season was great. I finally broke 40 points and won the Brandon Holmes. I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, though, and had 6 goals for an accuracy of <6%. I was really slippery in my Agility, but not fast enough to make it count a lot of times. I was Top 3 in FO%, with numbers that would have been lunacy in STHS.
In STHS, I was getting an even number of assists and goals, along with shot blocks and the occasional takeaway. I didn't shoot a lot, but I was one of the most accurate players in the league. Overall, I feel like my build last season took a tremendous Defensive step forward but a step backwards Offensively. I want to be a little more balanced.
Taking a small step back in the Reads is okay, I think. Stepping up in Speed to match a lower Agility should make it a little easier for breakaways, or at least zone carries. I was really happy with my shot blocking last season, so I dialed it up another notch this season.
I figure any changes I don't like can be adjusted by building up when I uncap next season anyway.

After a full season playing on FHM, myself and other people on the team came together to see what would be the best 350 TPE build for my player would be and how would the free distribution play into that. Before my 350 TPE update, my player was sitting at around 290 TPE with 60 TPE plus the distribution to use. From last season's stats, it seems like my player wasn't able to truly play a two-way game as I focused more on the defensive side of things. That's why heading into this season I decided to up my offense through passing, offensive read, and a bit of shooting. We also noted that strength plays a bit of a role and therefore more TPE was invested into that as well. In the end with the 60 TPE I had, there wasn't much need for the free distribution. My player didn't drastically change from my first season's build so the free distribution wasn't actually all that necessary. Regardless, I used the free distribution to move 3 TPE from Hitting and Bravery to help in improvements in my player's shooting categories. Let's hope this build produces more than 9 points as I head into my second season in the SMJHL with the Vancouver Whalers.

This season my coaches had me build my 350 TPE build for the Knights S54 push. I capped out before the season started, so I got to do some thinking on my build before having to post it. I like to think of myself as a defensive playmaker, so I ended up going hard on the passing drills in the offseason. I developed a pretty nasty tape to tape saucer that I'm excited to see my teammates put into the back of the net this season. I also struggled with giveaways last season, so I did a lot of stick handling work this offseason. That should help cut down on the unforced errors. With my defensive game my coaches put my through a pretty good film gauntlet, making sure I could get in good position while on the break and in our own zone. This season should be a good one, and after winning gold in WJC I am really excited to get back on the ice in front of the home crowd!

For most players, this off-season was a chance for everyone to reset. In Emilia’s case, it was a chance to finally take a break after an absolutely grueling rookie season, where she made her professional hockey debut after a couple of years in local Swedish hockey leagues. She spent most of the start of the off-season relaxing in saunas, allowing her sore muscles to heal after brutal 45-minute playoff games.
But in terms of improvement, it was more of the same for Emilia with a twist. She worked primarily on her defense, reading the high-paced SMJHL offenses and acquainting herself with the personnel on the Buffalo Stampede, her brand-new SHL major league team. But in general, Emilia spent time with the Outlaws, focusing on positioning and re-acquainting herself with hockey-specific skating techniques to help her keep up with the fastest and most agile skaters. After all, with Petrenko headed up to the San Francisco Pride, she’d need to carry the torch as a newly minted assistant captain.

After spending my first season working on becoming a Screening specialist creating holes in the net for some heavy fire power, it has come to my attention that I would need to make a transition to center to become an elite Screening specialist. That's a deal-breaker for the SMJHL! I've decided to work on becoming a more complete player increasing my endurance allowing me to get the most out of my minutes played. Other facets of my game that coach really was looking to improve was my puck-handling abilities. Last year I had a whopping 25 giveaways while averaging 15:41 TOT, this is one of the highest giveaways to TOT ratios in the SMJHL and I'm looking forward to changing that; cone drills in practice are showing steady improvement. I'm uncertain what will round out my growth this year. It depends on what the coaching staff wants me to train towards. I have a feeling it will be something related to defense.

User's perspective: With a season on FHM in the books and a free redistribution gifted by HO for the offseason, what did you decide to change about your player build? Did you drastically change your build from last season? If so, why? Are you going to be trying to fit into a new role this season? What did you learn from last season's pilot run?
With the free redistribution gifted by the HO I have trusted @"TommySalami" to help me with my player build. My player build is very different from last season as Tony has instructed me to put 19 points into shooting accuracy and puck handling. This puts me more in a shooter type of playstyle and one that I did not foresee myself having on the team. But, Tony has been one of our top players and leaders for several seasons now and I trust him and his player build for me. Tony has said that he has done some playing around in the FHM and has made build suggestions for the entire
team. I am excited to see how I perform this season along with the rest of our roster.
Some lessons learned I learned from last season's pilot run is that aggression is not a viable attribute as it only increases your chance of getting a penalty. Shooting accuracy, puck handling and stamina look to be viable attributes as well moving forward.

In the off season I used the free distribution to unlearn some skills and learn new ones. Now that I am most likely getting more responsibilities in the Dragons lineups it was time for me to put a little more focus on my defensive game and I have worked hard in the gym to improve my overall strength. Now this will probably have a negative effect on my speed and agility, but as I am more playing against teams top defensive pair, it was inevitable to do some lifting and be less dependant on our parm enhancers.
Besides that we've watched a ton of videos on those top defensive pairings to learn them inside out. Last year was a breakout season for me with 55 points in 50 games, but this year I hope to improve that even more. We have a strong group and we're capable of making a deep run this year!
The offseason felt extremely short. After having a few short weeks to spend with my trainer, I was given a call to join the British Isles world junior team. It was a huge honor and I got to see how my progression faired against others of my similar caliber. I was put in a role I hadn't been in previously. I was getting significant penalty kill minutes because I was working solely on my defensive game for all of last season. I was a huge asset to the team and I knew that this would translate well to the SMJHL when I return this coming season. I did not want to be the defensive liability that my coach was afraid of when I initially signed. I have to keep working on my game so that I can be more valuable to the team. My counting stats may suffer but in the end I hope that all this work is worth a big payoff.

The coaching staff told me to try and be more defensively responsible for next season, as my point total that was hyper inflated by powerplay success overshadowed an underlying issue of me being a complete liability on defense in even strength situations. In response, I continued to work on the offensive side of my game so I could score even more points while being equally as much of a liability in my own zone. Yeah, you could argue my consistent lack of defensive capabilities is what cost me the opportunity to get a Scott Stevens nomination this season, but I would argue that without my offensive prowess I would not even be in the discussion. My main goal for S54 isn't to be 'more defensively responsible' even if Hamilton tries to play a defensive style; I will be clapping bombs and trying to match the same kind of offense that will probably win Poopity Scoop this season's Stevens. Also, I was the only Hamilton skater to get a playoff MVP nom, so who's to tell me I'm doing anything wrong? Heck defense.
