The Colorado Raptors begin the S54 SMJHL campaign with 8 talented rookies.  The team is excited to watch them grow and develop into productive SMJHL players.  In addition to the strong rookie group, Colorado returns a veteran core hungry to achieve success before moving on to the SHL.  A vote was held to determine captains and the results are in. We’re proud to announce the Colorado Raptors S54 Captains:








Alternate Captain: Jean-Uthred Ragnarsson-Tremblay - @lespoils

Jean-Uthred Ragnarsson-Tremblay (“JURT”) is second year center known for his shut down defensive play. JURT matches up against the opponent’s top line night in and night out and makes their lives miserable. He’s good in the faceoff circle, never hesitates to block a shot, and is a cerebral, instinctual player. The guy is also great to have in the locker room and is probably the best twitter follow out there. We are excited to have JURT be in the captains group for S54.

Alternate Captain: Bradley Barkov – @MarlinManiac4

The Raptors welcome Bradley Barkov back to his third year on the blue line. The two-way Finnish defender finished last season with 6 goals, 21 assists, and 11 points on the power play.  Barkov’s defensive game is equally impressive and he led Colorado in ice time in S53.  He’s worked hard on his game this offseason and we expect him to continue to lead the Raptors with his play and veteran presence.  Barkov is a team player that is well liked across the locker room and we're happy his hard work is being recognized with the alternate captaincy.

Captain: Simothy Drunkebird – @Esso2264

Returning as Captain, Colorado local fan favorite Simothy Drunkebird stumbles back from his bird nest for another year with the Raptors.  The short, stocky center plays a balanced game with deft passing and responsible defensive play. Drunkebird put up 18 goals and 18 assists in S53 and will look to lead the first line for his third straight season. Simothy’s accent can often be difficult to understand, especially if he’s been drinking.  When he can be understood, the team rallies around their long-time captain with inspired play.  Simothy is a staple in the Colorado locker room and we are glad to have him back to lead the Raptors into S54.
