New Rule - Test Sims and FHM Password Manipulation
#1

Hello, SHL.

HO has become aware of a developer oversight in FHM6 for the way we use it for the SHL. It is possible to delete the commissioner password by going into the Manager tab, then accessing the Add/Edit Human Managers menu. Here, one could change or delete the commissioner password, allowing them to reload as commissioner and advance the file to a future date. GM accounts cannot do this the way they are supposed to access the file. This allows a person to have much more reliable test sims.

This is not necessarily detrimental to the League's integrity. We only want to make everyone aware of how this test sim method works so no one team has that advantage over any other in that regard. This method does not directly harm other teams, so we have decided it is acceptable to use.

However, an exploit similar to this method also allows a person to delete or change GM passwords, which would enable them to submit lines and tactics for another team. With how teams give the simmer their file each day for sims, this leaves a trail for us to identify who is submitting for each team.

Effective immediately, HO has decided to adopt a zero-tolerance policy regarding this exploit. Any user who submits lines or tactics for a team other than theirs will be permanently banned from the SHL. All other parties with proven involvement will also be permanently banned. They will be terminated from any positions they hold. Their players will retire immediately.

In no uncertain terms, this is cheating, fundamentally counter to what the SHL stands for, and a gross breach of trust we cannot tolerate when trust is all we have.

Please ask us any questions you have regarding today's announcement.

Thank you,
SHL Head Office

But what if one submits correct lines for Tampa and wins a game... must be worth something here, right?

If the exploit could delete GM passwords, would that let the exploiter know the tactics and settings of other teams that would normally be private?

I don't think you even need to fuck around with GM passwords, doesn't the commish account see it all anyway?

In b4 someone actually does this and they only lose 1/2 their GM pay and lose a 2nd round pick

Really love that this rule is coming out BEFORE someone does this, this needs to happen more often

I would bet a sizeable amount of money on awil and I having less test sim time than half of this league.

What does Hamilton have to do with this? I was completely unaware of this honestly.

Also wasn't NEW ahead of us last season?

it is now illegal to not let a team win once in a season and all other GMs will be punished accordingly.
