S54 Team Switzerland
------------------------------------------------

Forwards

C - Luca Veccelli  Rage
Luca had a solid season with the Manhattan Rage. He is a very reliable two-way centerman. He ended the season with nine goals and 18 points. The biggest upside of his game is his defensive responsibility. Switzerland will likely rely on him heavily for their penalty kill unit. He will fill a good depth roll on a young team.

C - Mitchell van der Heijden  Specters
Mitchell is one of the young up and comers on the Swiss roster and already has a Challenge Cup to his name. He has good hands and an eye for making plays. He had a solid season with the New Orleans Specters, finishing with 8 goals and 10 assists. He will be another key asset to the Swiss penalty-killing unit, as he possesses good speed  and high defensive awareness.

C - Slap McShotty  Wolfpack
McShotty had a great season with the New England Wolfpack. He registered 16 goals and 44 points. He was a Workhorse for the Wolfpack, Averaging over 23 minutes of ice time each night. He is one of the few veterans on this Swiss team, and they will be looking to him for leadership. He has remarkable Puck control, as he only had 10 turnovers this past season.

C - Daniel Bischoff  Blizzard
Bischoff is another promising young forward for the Swiss team. He scored nine goals and 20 points with the Edmonton Blizzard. Daniel has a good shot and quick release, but it is not the quickest player on the ice. He is solid defensively and in the right role, could excel as a wing on the power play unit.

C - Rocco Berni  Knights
This will be Rocco's second tournament with Switzerland. He is a young forward  with some good puck handling skills. As a newer player on the team you will play a depth role as a forward. He played last season in the SMJHL with the Kelowna Knights,  picking up 15 goals and 47 points.  He was their top power-play performer, and could potentially see some special team’s time with Switzerland.  Even though he had a great season in the minors, we'll see what he looks like when playing against men.

RW - Elijah Jones Panthers
Elijah is just entering his prime as a pure goal scorer. He finished last season with 14 goals and 24 points playing for the LA Panthers. He is the definition of a shoot first ask questions later type of player. He has good stick skills and a knack for getting open. He'll need a good center to utilize his scoring touch. He will need to have a good tournament if Switzerland hopes to go far.

RW- Cal Labovitch  Falcons
Cal had a somewhat disappointing season with the Detroit Falcons.  He did manage to finish with nine goals and 23 points, however he was a -12. He has been training hard since the Falcons exited the playoffs, and it looks like his skating has improved in the off-season. It will be interesting to see how he performs with the Swiss team in the tournament.

LW - Lallo Selman  syndicate
Lallo is an absolute stud. He was among the top scorers for the Chicago Syndicate with 26 goals and 61 points. He finished the season with a plus 28 rating, and was an absolute special team’s beast with 26 points on the power play. He's another forward that will log considerable amounts of ice time, as he averaged over 21 minutes per game in Chicago. The team will rely on his offensive production to get into the medal rounds.

LW - Nicolaj Muller  Stampede
Muller is another young talented skater,  who plays with the Buffalo Stampede.  he had a solid season with 10 goals and 26 points, while also finishing with a plus 17 rating. he was a good depth forward and can add some secondary scoring on the lower lines for the Swiss national team. He has a responsible defensive game that could see him earning some penalty killing time.

LW - William Hartmann Whalers
Hartmann Is a younger addition to the team, he spent this past season playing with the Vancouver Whalers. He struggled to find his game as the Whalers finished in last place in the SMJHL. He will be looking to improve this tournament, as he only registered one assist last year. He does have tremendous upside, hopefully he can find his game on the international level.

LW - Nick Connolly  syndicate
Connelly is entering his prime with the Chicago Syndicate. This past season he had 15 goals and 35 points and was an astounding plus 40. He is a sensational playmaker who makes those around him better. He will be a tremendous depth talent on this Swiss team and is a player to watch as a breakout superstar.

LW - Anthony Archer  Barracuda
Archer had a tough season with the Tampa Bay Barracuda, but then again who didn’t. He finished the season with only one goal and seven points, but was a -63 on the season. Although his stats may suggest otherwise, he is a solid stay-at-home defenseman.

Defensemen

D - Mathias Seger  Chiefs
Seger is a true stay at home defenseman, who is willing to lay his body on the line for his team. He finished this past season with 238 block shots on Minnesota’s blue line. He is also a beastly physical presence as he had over 200 hits as well. He isn't a flashy player by any means but he did get 22 points on the season. It will be his shutdown defensive play that proves most valuable for Switzerland.

D - Daniel Kuster  Stars
Kuster had a rather forgettable season with the Toronto North Stars. He averaged over 18 minutes of game on defense with only 13 points to show for the entire season. his defensive play suspect as he managed to rack up a -39 rating. On the plus side he did block 120 shots for the North Stars, which at least shows his determination to helping his team.

D - Ursin Zimmermann  Stars
Ursin is an interesting defenseman. While he managed to rack up 30 points on a season with Toronto, he also managed to finish with a -46 rating. He is however a power-play specialist as 19 of his 30 points came on the power play including 5 of the 6 goals on the season. He also isn't afraid to sacrifice the body as he blocked a hundred and ninety shots for the North Stars.  in the right situation he could be a force to be reckoned with in the tournament.

D - FR Finn-Rhys  Blizzard
Finn is a promising young blue liner who had a solid season with Edmonton. He finished the season with 7 goals and 17 points. He also finished with 61 hits and 78 blocked shots as a well rounded two-way defenseman. He has a solid game from end to end, and will provide some nice depth on the Swiss blue line.

D - Noah Tedla  Chiefs
Noah is another Young two-way defenseman,  who plays for the Minnesota Chiefs.  He was one of their premier defenseman averaging just under 27 minutes of ice time per game.  He finished the season with a respectable 3 goals and 19 points. It would be beneficial if he could utilize his size to assert more of a physical presence and front of his net.

D - Basil Magnicotta  Shl
It looks like this will be Basil’s final tournament, as he announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Goaltenders

G - Tibuk Soonika  syndicate
Tibuk helped backstop the Chicago syndicate to the playoffs in S54 with his incredible size and athleticism. He finished the season with an impressive .914 save percentage and 2 shutouts. He had a 2.25 GAA allowing the 3rd least goals of any team last season. His play is only getting better and we will see if he can reach that next level in this IIHF tournament.

G - Markus Tegernako  Chiefs
Tegernako had a rough season for Minnesota, but he can hardly be blamed for the teams lack of success. Even though he finished with a 4.13 GAA, he finished with an astounding .916 save percentage. He faced more shots than any other goalie this past season. He will be a more than component backup, and could potentially push Soonika for a starting position.
