S55 PT #1 - Back To Where It All Began

Darnell actually grew up in central Florida playing soccer, and only stumbled into a career in hockey later in life. Perhaps that's why, then, he tries to do some hockey outreach in his communities both around NOLA and back home in the Tampa Bay area every year. In coordination with TBB, this year he's gone back to his old middle school to talk to some of the kids there. Darnell knows that his career is based pretty highly on circumstance, so doesn't focus too much solely on hockey, but instead focuses his speech on the importance of trying new things, doing things for yourself, and sticking with the things you love. Which were some of the principals that led him first to Notre Dame as a student, and eventually led to him trying out for both the soccer team and the hockey team.

Without taking chances on yourself, it's hard to go anywhere meaningful in life. If you're doing something because someone else things you should, if your heart's not in it, it'll be hard for you to succeed. It might still be a meaningful experience, but you need to reward yourself by doing meaningful activities that you care about, and once you find something you enjoy, you should stick with it. Pursue your passion and work to be the best at it that you can be.

Ethan Price the pride of the Anaheim Outlaws and future hero of the New England Wolfpack got forced to unfortunately go back to his home town to give a speech to kids. Ethan was someone who does not like kids, they tend to smell and are quite frankly annoying. One might say, he showed up so he wouldn't be fined. After going out for some morning drinking to set his mind at ease, he finally would show up to the speech about twenty six minutes later. His speech was made up of various talking points provided by his agent about how if you try hard enough and stick with hockey, you too might end up making it into the SHL. Midway through the speech, he goes about an autograph session where he charges all of the kids which absolutely no money at all $50 an autograph which did not go over well, making a whopping $100 from the two parents who attended as well. All said and done, the speech was a success.

Pavel Kharlamov was invited back to his old school in Moscow. This was during the off-season where he was drafted to the Tampa bay barracudas. So Pavel hopped on a flight and went back to Moscow to go give a speech about the path to the SHL, something that Kharlamov has gone through.

Upon arriving he was greeted by the staff, you could see how happy they were that Pavel had come back to talk. Pavel was a great student at the school so he looked like a perfect role model for future students.

“Dream big, but remember that there are several steps to reach your dreams. Sometimes you might get knocked back down, but if you keep trying you can keep moving forward. The first step to that is school, if you can apply yourself here you can apply yourself to anything. I had some of my best years here, which would set me up to be the hard working player I am today!”

monkey d luffys speech will all be about how to grow as a person and how to mature as an athlete and as a student. Its really hard these days to know when to train and when to study especially as a young adult learning the way of the world. Dedication in all aspects of life is what will help make any person great and the skill will come in time. Eating right, training right, and mentally preparing are all things that make you succeed in this world, especially as an adult and luffy will make sure the little kiddos will know this. When it comes down to it the speech will be short and sweet but providing real life experiences from his own life as examples can show the kids and help them better understand that literally anybody can do it, even the people in the crowd. Hopefully inspiring future athletes.
