Maybe I'm speaking out of line here since I'm a 1st Gen player and know fuck all about GMing and what all goes on behind the scenes. But it seems to me if you guys are this concerned about what happened with the trades, then how about stepping up and offering to help Dilk instead of pissing, moaning, and pointing fingers? Did he make some bad decisions? I don't fucking know. But I do know Daft, and Daft has never been the kind of guy to try and intentionally fuck someone over. You want to make the environment in the League better, then get off your high fucking horses and try to help the dude instead of bashing him. Besides if his team is in as bad of position as everyone seems to be saying, then some blame for all this needs to be laid on the GMs that were offering up the shit deals you claim he took. I know a GM is supposed to be looking out for their team first and foremost, but sometimes you gotta look at doing shit that will help out the League overall. That's not to say anyone should have been cutting their own throat with these trades, but throwing out a bone here and there to help him rebuild helps everybody in the long run. You say you want the League to be a fun, friendly, and non-toxic environment, well that ain't what you're creating with all this hoopla.

Yes, he could've played hardball. Yes, he could've gotten more for the trades but if those offers weren't from the teams the players wanted to go then those trades are meaningless.
It's way better to have a couple unhappy players on a bad franchise then several unhappy players spread throughout the league on teams that they don't want to be apart of.
If players want out, they want out. Holding them hostage is pointless pettiness.
Only trading your players exactly where they want to go is a nice thing to do for sure. But in order to be successful, especially in a situation as dire as the Pride's, you don't just need to be nice, you also need to think about the pure business side of things - and maybe prioritize the latter over the former. That does not mean trading players where they would absolutely hate to go, that obviously would be in bad style and reflect negatively on your franchise. But keeping an open mind, looking into all possible offers, leveraging them against each other and then asking the player if they would be fine with going to the one or two highest bidders? That's absolutely reasonable.
Besides, if those players are such super loyal Pride-members that care so much about what's best for their franchise, as has been claimed, then shouldn't they be okay with whatever benefits the franchise the most, the highest offer simply no matter who it comes from? Shouldn't they be okay with spending a season or two in a meh location if it means a significant benefit for the team they claim to care so deeply about? I'm not saying that the players in question actively refused this or anything by the way, it's more of a general argument. I doubt that any player who truly cares about the Pride and their future would have rejected a really good offer for himself just because the team offering for him wasn't his dream location.

Hello! Happy to have you in the discussion. I think my biggest concern and critique goes toward Head Office for actions that seem contradictory. They have long established that a previous GM cannot name their successor (and a Co-GM isn't guaranteed the position), as that created an old boys club mentality that wasn't/isn't healthy. I think this is a good thing. HO posted the hiring thread for a new SFP GM yesterday. The challenging part is, at the same time, they approved a number of very large trades in a very short period of time from this team, under an interim, before hiring was even open. This sends a message to players, GMs, and the public that they are tacitly supporting Daft as the GM, and thus the hiring thread and process is meaningless. These actions are in direct conflict with each other, and that understandably causes some angst for people.
As many others have said before, there was not a need for these trades to happen yesterday, especially with at least one HO member (based on what they told me this morning) not having the chance to be part of conversations on the topic. HO has precedent for delaying and even overturning deals like these done by an interim GM (with this very franchise, even). Very little would have been lost in delaying these trades days or even a week while HO completes a thorough search process. Thus, my concern is less fixated on the deals themselves, and more fixated on that HO should not have approved them in the first place if they are hosting a genuine application process for the next GM.
I also feel it important to point out that I feel there are some certain people in this and other threads militantly defending (largely from a single team, I notice) Dilk who are being a bit intellectually dishonest in their defenses. This is unsurprising, with the history of that locker room and how they interact with the rest of the site.
