The following news article appeared on the front page of the sports section of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph.
In what has to be one of the strangest stories to come out of the SMJHL in recent years, The Quebec City Citadel's Mascot has filed a lawsuit against top Swedish forward Sven Gunnar to the tune of Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand dollars. The lawsuit states that Gunnar started a violent mosh pit during a team function and repeatedly struck Jean Sebastien LaFleur, Age Twenty-Two, from Levis, Canada in the head several times.
One witness was quoted as saying "Gunnar started a fucking sick pit dude. He cracked the guy in the owl costume with two roundhouse kicks to the head like a ninja or something. It was pretty sweet. I don't know what got into Sven though he's usually pretty chill about keeping the karate out of the pit but he was just on it that day. You could see it in his eyes, He was like Mustaine after he got kicked out of Metallica or something. There was all blood leaking out the giant owl head the guy was wearing and stuff, It was pretty fucking metal to tell you the truth." Court records obtained by The Telegraph show that Gunnar was interviewed by the Quebec City Police Department shortly after the incident. According to the report, Sven had an estimated Blood Alcohol Content of .26, more than three times the legal limit in Canada. According to Sven's answers during this interview, he had just discovered the wonderful magical deliciousness that is Rumchata and told Officers that he had drank about three and a half bottle of the cinnamon-flavored liquor since ten o'clock that morning. Quebec City Citdael's Management refused to comment on the incident when The Telegraph reached out to them for comment. Quote: 305 Words
