Quebec City had an amazing stretch of game around the midseason. The expansion team struggled all season, as it was expected. However, around the twenty second game in the season, things started to look bright for them. It was after a Sunday break, where the team managed to shake off their eight to two loss against the Colorado Raptors and beef up a little bit.

The first stop for them were against the Anaheim Outlaws. The game was close.  When one team scored, the others was close behind. Quebec’s Roach and Anaheim’s Leblond were the first to strike in the second, both on the power play five minutes apart. In the third, Outlaws’ Price and Citadelles’ Berakek were the scorer. The game closed on a 2-2 tie. No team managed to find the net in the OT and the game went to shutout. Roach missed his shot. Hammarberg scored, but Quebec quickly answered with a goal from Gunnar. Five skaters tried after but none of them scored. Quebec Sombrero was the first to strike again, but Donair scored as well. The winning goal came from Quebec’s Rieley and immediately after, LeBlond did not manage to beat Danielson for a 3-2 OT Quebec City Citadelles Victory.

They second game was not a victory. They lost two – zero to the other expansion team, the Nevada Battleborn.  The two goals were scored in the first period. One short handed goal by defenseman Kamado and the second at equal strength by Vermette. It was a heartbreaking defeat for Quebec, as they managed to have 29 shots without any goals.

Their third game was another victory. This time in St. Louis. They took the lead in the first period after Reiley and Roach scored, while on St. Louis part, only Lizard had a goal. They kept the lead in the second after a goal from Caspari, despite St. Louis Logo striking his own. They closed the game with another goal from Rieley and Lizard scored for St. Louis to bring the score closer. They ended the night with a 4-3 victory on one of the oldest franchises.

The fourth game did not go in quebec’s favor. Despite outshotting Anaheim 34-28, the Outlaws were looking for a victory. Quebec scored the first goal, with Salming beating the goalie in 6 minutes, but Anaheim’s Tambo scored soon after. In the second period, Anaheim’s Jones and LeBlond added to the score, and Quebec saw their chances of winning vanish as Borro closed the door on them.

The biggest turnover was the fifth game in the stretch. They faced once again the Nevada Battleborn, and it was a totally different game. It took five goals, from Roach, Gunnar, Dolphin, Next and Sombreros before the Battleborn managed to reply to them. Zoidberg III tried to close the gap a little in the second period, but it was no aval. Roach scored 2 mores for his Hat trick and Sombreros got his second. Once again, the Battleborn scored at the end of the third with Wallace. The Citadelles were not done, however, as Salming and Sombrero scored in the third. Sombrero managed to get the 2nd had trick of the game for Quebec with a minute remaining to the game.

The last victory of this stretch by Quebec is against Maine. Things wre not looking great for Quebec at the start of the game, as Maine’s Sutton managed to score in the game with only 21 seconds elapsed since the start. However, at the end of the period, Quebec’s Dolphin managed to tie the game. Sombreros scored in the middle of the second period and Gunnar managed to seal the deal with a late powerplay goal in the third.

Overall, it was an impressive six games from the Quebec City Citadelles.
