This is a continuation of Deep Dive #1 - History of SMJHL Team Names. If this isn't an acceptable way to break out my dives as far as grading goes.. please let me know and I'll come up with something else.

History of SMJHL Team Names Part 2

Detroit Falcons

In Season 5, Seth founded the Detroit Falcons. This team another one of the four teams that has not undergone significant re-branding since it was founded, which is a bit of a surprise given that the team has played through a whopping 50 seasons under the leadership of 18 different GMs. The only change the Detroit Falcons have made to their team in this time is two logo swaps that depicted falcons in different ways but maintained the crimson and white throughout. So far, the Detroit Falcons have won six 4 Star Cups.

Kelowna Knights

The Kelowna Knights were founded in Season 2 by Koradek. This team is the second oldest of the four teams in the SMJHL that has not undergone hardly any change at all. Even the logo, which I believe is still used as an alternate, has remained essentially the same over the last 53 seasons. Since the team’s founding, the Knights have played under 18 different General Managers, with Katth taking the lead today. So far, the Kelowna Knights have won eleven 4 Star Cups.

Maine Timber

In Season 25, VBottas17 founded the Halifax Raiders. The team played under some pretty awesome pirate/viking-like logos over the course of 27 seasons. The Raiders played under 7 different GMs and won two 4 Star Cups before the team was moved to Maine and adopted its less exciting namesake, the Timber. Since becoming the Maine Timber, the team has not undergone a change in management and continues to play under Citizen of Adraa.

Newfoundland Berserkers

The Lethbridge Lions were founded in Season 45 by DanbyRem. For 6 seasons, the team played under this branding with just one change to management. In Season 49, DanbyRem was succeeded by JNH, who moved with the team to Newfoundland in Season 52 where they become the Berserkers.

St. Louis Scarecrows

In Season 5, the Boston Battalion were founded by Josh. After just three seasons, Josh was succeeded by Joker5123 and the team was moved to Chicago where they soon became the Hitmen. Between Seasons 9 and 12 the Hitmen played under the leadership of two different GMs. In Season 13, the team was moved a second time to St. Louis where it was branded as the Scarecrows. Since moving to St. Louis, the team has played 42 seasons under seven different GMs and won a whopping seven 4 Star Cups.

9 General Managers in team history

Vancouver Whalers

The Vancouver Whalers were founded in Season 1 by Kane.88. Astoundingly, this team has not undergone any significant re-branding since its original founding. Even changes to the logo were very minor in nature; the team maintained the same colour scheme and essentially just modernized it a little bit. The Vancouver Whalers have played a total of 55 seasons under 21 different General Managers.
So far, the Vancouver Whalers have won ten 4 Star Cups.
