Monkey Mann Jr. VROOM VROOM
#1

In this issue of life with Monkey Mann Jr., we will be looking at the players taste in cars. Having had a rookie contract, he has more than enough money to buy some sort of playtoy to play with. As such, we will be looking at what cars he has and what cars he would like to buy in the future. Keep in mind, this is something that is brand new to monkey mann jr. because he lived in a cave for most of his life, so he just found out what a V8 engine is.

  1. The first car that Monkey Mann Jr. bought with his hard earned rookie contract was a Mustang GT350R. When asked why he bought it, he said that the single biggest reason why he purchased this car was because of the 5.2 liter “Voodoo” flat-plane V8 engine that is under the hood. With 526 horses under the hood, this car definitely puts out enough power in to satisfy anyone’s need for speed. Monkey Mann Jr. said that he really enjoys the flat-plane V8 for a number of reasons, one of which is that it reaches 8250 RPM, which is insane for a V8. It goes from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. Let’s just hope that the amount of speed doesn’t prove to be an issue for Monkey Mann Jr. and that he doesn’t get in a really bad car accident or get a bunch of expensive tickets.
  2. The second car that has been on Monkey Mann Jr.’s mind is a Ford F-250. Although Ford recently released the 7.3 liter gas V8 that was so highly anticipated and demanded by everyone, Monkey Mann Jr. thinks that when he decides to pull the trigger, he will still decide to go with the 6.7 liter turbo-diesel Powerstroke. While he plans on keeping his Mustang mostly stock, his F-250 will likely be modded heavily. Monkey Mann Jr. has a number of modifications that are on his list, including lift kits, exhaust mods, and suspension upgrades. Monkey Mann Jr. says that he has been a big Ford fan ever since he was a child, and he would always drive his Grandpa’s Ford Bronco around the farm whenever he would visit. Monkey Mann Jr. enjoys the 6.7 liter Powerstroke because he thinks it puts out a nice amount of power, at 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. He wants a black one of these boys, and would also like to use it to tow his boat around and go to the lake. He says that he plans on having a lot of lake days with the boys and that all of his teammates are invited
  3. For his third car, Monkey Mann Jr. thinks that he would very much like to buy a nicer car, considering that his first two cars were very much his toys. He thinks that for his nice car, he would like to get a Mercedes AMG S-Class Coupe. While this car is going to be his nice car, Monkey Mann Jr. still does not want to sacrifice speed. He thinks that the S-Class Coupe would be great, because it comes with a 4.0 liter turbocharged V8. According to a number of reviews, the S-Class coupe also has a great suspension system. Combine that with the new MBUX entertainment system, and you get the perfect package for Monkey Mann Jr.. Due to COVID, Monkey Mann Jr. has not been able to drive one yet, but he watches a lot of Doug Demuro’s videos, so he is very knowledgeable about the quirks and features of these cars.
  4. Considering that Monkey Mann Jr. eventually wants to have kids and plans on marrying a super hot chick, the fourth car on his list is one that fits kids and hot moms all the same, a Range Rover. While obviously people think that Range Rovers are super great, it is not number one on Monkey Mann Jr.’s list because many of his friends have Range Rovers, and he has heard that the ride is a lot rougher than you would expect. Furthermore, the fact that Range Rovers are not the most reliable cars and getting them fixed are a pain in the butt, and you get why Range Rovers are not number one on Monkey Mann Jr.’s list. While there are a number of possible options on a Range Rover, Monkey Mann Jr. would still go for the option that comes with a 5.0 liter V8. Monkey Mann Jr. still believes that there is no replacement for displacement, as he is very old school and does not like the 3.0 liter turbocharged inline 6 engine or the 3.0 liter turbo diesel. He thinks that getting such a small engine would not be great, and that a 5.0 L V8 would just be less moving parts and more reliable in general.
  5. Once Monkey Mann Jr. has completed his collection of cars that would be driven daily, he would like to begin a collection of much older vintage cars. He thinks that the first project car that he would like to buy and restore would be a 1969 Mustang Fastback. He likes this car because he thinks it is one of the most iconic cars in the entire history of American muscle cars. Interestingly, Monkey Mann Jr. thinks that he may consider doing a resto-mod, and may possibly put a modern 5.0 liter “coyote” V8 engine into the ‘69 Mustang. The 5.0 Liter V8 is generally found in the newer generation of Mustangs, with a variant tuned for more torque making its way into F-150s. Monkey Mann Jr. thinks that putting a newer engine into such an old and iconic car would be a crazy tribute to how far American engineering has come and would be a nice little touch.
  6. The sixth car that Monkey Mann Jr. could see himself owning in the near future would be a new Ford GT. While the Ford GT is performance-wise, much better than the GT350R, Monkey Mann Jr. thinks that the 350R is higher on the list purely because it is more drivable on a daily basis. Furthermore, the fact that newer GTs do not have a V8 in them is also kind of a turn off for Monkey Mann Jr.. He understands that performance wise, there is no difference, but he still thinks that in a Ford GT, they should absolutely keep it a naturally aspirated V8, not a crappy turbocharged six banger. However, he likes this car because of how iconic the Ford GT is.
  7. The seventh and final car is an older project car that Monkey Mann Jr. would one day love to own. The AC Cobra. However, a REAL AC Cobra would be very hard to come across, and would likely sell for millions, which is why this is last place on Monkey Mann Jr.s list. However, the AC Cobra is one of the single most iconic cars ever created in the history of automobiles, and he would love to one day drive a Cobra that was his own.

This concludes our interview with Monkey Mann Jr., but through his taste in cars, I hope that you the reader were able to gain some insight into Monkey Mann Jr.’s mindset and what makes him really tick.
