Carolina Kraken opened up preseason day 1 with an offensive standout victory over the Detroit Falcons, managing to create more than thrice the amount of scoring chances than their opponents, though as much as they spent time practicing scoring, they didnt do as much work for their defense, only sealing the deal within the last minutes of the game. Sadly, the same offensive scheme didnt follow the game after, them being completely shut down offensively by the Berserkers. Their lack of defensive strategy showed up heavily during the game, long story short the Berserkers outscored, outshot and outplayed them.

New day, new possibilities, but the Kraken failed to bounce back from their previous setback. The Raptors having better offensive style paid off with 5 goals, and the Kraken only scoring once. Early scoring wasnt a problem against the Kelowna Knights, them starting off with 2 unanswered. Sadly, the same story from day 1 continues as they didnt seem to be able to score from their chances as the Knights came back from their 2 goal downsight to make it to overtime. Kraken stood up and took it home, like they should have in the first 3 periods. Next up was the Whalers who seem to give a similar sent as the Krakens, not being able to score from their chances. Game ending 2-1 in favor of Kraken, shots going 33-29 to them. Clearly something needs to be done for both teams for day 3.

Day 3, and the coach has set things straight for them. Rematch against Kelowna, creating chances left and right and making the most of them sealed their victory over the Knights. Speaking of the devil, the Knights faced the Kraken once more during day 3. The crushing feel of defeat clearly had them by the throat, Kelowna conceding 4 goals just in the first period. There was no way back from that, as they lose 7-2 with the Kraken boosting their confidence with a solid performance for the upcoming season.

With pride to wear the Kraken crest and a massive ambition in their hearts, the Carolina Kraken end their preseason with an impressive 5-2-0 score. Their offensive mentality suits their playstyle the most, only lacking in defending. In order to gain another trophy this season, they need to take advantage of their chances created, and step up their defensive game. If they manage to improve these points, needless to say they are a solid candidate for the cup.
