Game 1: Detroit Falcons  Falcons vs. St. Louis Scarecrows  Scarecrows

The Detroit Falcons came into the 56th Season with its head held high and better attitude then they had last season after getting swept out of the playoffs in the first round. So, the Detroit Falcons walked into Enterprise Arena to go up against the team they despise the most the St. Louis Scarecrows. Game one of the season for both teams and they wanted to win so badly. Who does not want to win the first game of the new season against their rivals. The St. Louis came out the gate just a running in this game. The Detroit Falcons looked like they did not know how to control the puck, turnover after turnover all game and St. Louis isn’t a team you can do that to, they will make you look silly and that is what the Scarecrows did, nine minutes into the first period St. Louis's Pavel Kharlamov got the pass that he scooped up but lost it, Young Logo grabs the loose puck, he passed it over to Pavel Kharlamov he was alone on goal. Pavel Kharlamov slows down...In on goal… Pavel Kharlamov with an unbelievable goal! His first of the year, assisted by Young Logo his first assist on the year. Three minutes later it happened again. Oliver Setzinger sends the puck into the neutral zone, Jimmy Dekens is a stride ahead of Oliver Setzinger and gathers in the loose puck. Jimmy Dekens rams it deep into Detroit territory. Young Logo and Anna Maier race for the puck. Young Logo comes up with it. The centering pass to Pavel Kharlamov. Deflected on goal by Pavel Kharlamov. Another goal for Pavel Kharlamov! His second of the night. He was assisted by Young Logo and Elwulf Jericson. There was a faceoff for Detroit has the puck after the win by Daedalus James. The rolling puck leaves the zone. Cenek Iqbal takes command of it. He sends it towards Kolja Kekkonen. Forced through traffic to Sammy Blaze. Relayed to Kolja Kekkonen in the high slot. Kolja Kekkonen gives it to Cenek Iqbal. Cenek Iqbal looks for Sammy Blaze with a dangerous pass. Sammy Blaze into the high slot area. He moves it to Cenek Iqbal in the corner. He squeezes a pass right in front to Daedalus James. Daedalus James tips it on goal. Nicolae Antonescu can't stop it! Daedalus James with the goal! It's his first goal this season. He was assisted by Cenek Iqbal and Sammy Blaze. So, Daedalus James coming into the year ready to get back to work, he wanted to show the new management his hard work was paying off, seeing him score was amazing. Good goal to a well-deserved player. Sammy Blaze set that goal up perfect after giving Cenek Iqbal a perfect pass for Daedalus James to tip it in past the Scarecrows keeper. Unfortunately, that is the only goal the Falcons will see go into the net. They had a rough game letting 3 more goals into the net, the game ended 5-1 in favor of St. Louis Scarecrows, but Detroit let a majority of those goals go in coming from a turnover in their own zone. The defense will grow each game and get better, there is a lot of talent on this roster to lose 5-1, so let’s hope they bounce back in their second game against Anaheim. Here are some stats for the game. St. Louis led the game with 29 shots on goal to Detroit’s 26 shots. The Detroit Falcons only had 13 hits during this game that’s 4 hits a period not a lot, St. Louis having 24 hits so 6 per period, is not a lot either so. For being a big rivalry there was not a lot of hits or even penalty minutes. See if that changes for the second game.

Game 2: Detroit Falcons  Falcons vs. Anaheim Outlaws  Outlaws

Game two of the season comes back to Detroit Falcons home arena The Jet Blue Airways Arena. The Detroit Falcons wanted to forget about last game and head home with a clear mind, so the players came to Detroit’s version of Canadas poutine, CALLED America Poutine.... . All the players love it and its good luck for them so they have to win tonight against the Outlaws. It looked like another game where Detroit will get blown out of the water, in the first period Detroit again had to many turnovers. The first goal two minutes into the period Anaheim scored, Michael Scotch with the one-timer. Evangelos Giannopoulos blocks it gallantly! It deflects towards the side boards. Grabbed by "Long" John Donair."Long" John Donair's pass behind the net for James Boxman II. James Boxman II passes the puck quickly to "Long" John Donair. "Long" John Donair is in tight and shoots! He scores! Goal for "Long" John Donair! So, it is 1-0 to start the game, but it all changed when this happened. Taisto Jutila rips it to the net. Robs him, great save by Vincent Mietitore! Taisto Jutila controls the rebound. He moves it over to Sammy Blaze. Sammy Blaze fires a slapper into traffic! The puck is tipped by Daedalus James. Vincent Mietitore doesn't react in time! Daedalus James scores! He scored again in his second game of the new season, he had 2 goals through 50 games, he already has tied for goals through two games! Keep it up Daedalus. Anaheim spoiled the party by scoring again just two minutes later. Ending the period down 2-1 Detroit went into the locker room knowing they can score on this team. But seven minutes into the period The Outlaws scored again off a mistake from Monkey Man JR. Score is now 3-1. The period kept going on for almost 5 minutes until The Detroit SAVER Daedalus scores again. Here is how it went.  James LeBlond will try to take control, pursued by Sammy Blaze and it looks like Sammy Blaze has the puck. Sammy Blaze cruises over the line. He moves the disc to Cenek Iqbal in the corner. A risky pass to Anna Maier at the line. Delivered to the high slot for Daedalus James. Directed to the goal by Daedalus James. It trickles across the line, Daedalus James scores! That was his second goal of the night! Officially has more goals than he did all of last season. Jonathan Granström made a massive play to tie the game up!! Jonathan Granström gathers in the loose puck, ahead of James LeBlond. Jonathan Granström drops it off for Michael Lee. Michael Lee rifles a long-range shot. Vincent Mietitore slides to his right to make the save. Michael Lee gathers in the rebound. Jonathan Granström gathers the rebound and shoots! Past Vincent Mietitore, across the line! Goal for Jonathan Granström! It's his first goal this season. The busy second period ended with a tied 3-3 game. The third period was quiet, but each team was shooting and nothing went in. So, we went to OVERTIME!! Zakkira Diporov early penalty in Overtime gave the Falcons no hope to score. So, both teams called it even and headed to Shootout where Detroit prevailed to score 2 goals to the Outlaws 1 goal. Yngve Simonsson with a terrific move to score on Anaheim’s keeper, Michael Lee made a little move to get it past the Outlaw Keep again. Ryu Jones for Anaheim had one more chance to tie it up but Valtteri Aalto had a beautiful pad save for Detroit to win there first game! Detroit Record is now 1-1-0!!! Go FALCONS!! SKREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
