Game 42: Detroit Falcons vs. St. Louis Scarecrows

Detroit Falcons and St. Louis Scarecrows coming into this game not so far off each other record wise. We will see them face off Detroit Falcons and St. Louis Scarecrows coming into this game not so far off each other record wise. We will see them face off eight times so far this season. Detroit has been able to play their arch rivals a lot this season and everyone loves it. The media loves when these two play, because they always have some big hits and trash talking to each team. A lot of people know that Detroit and St. Louis hate each other with a burning passion. The hate has been running deep since the first time they meet 200 years ago. We will continue to see these two teams beat the snot out of each other season after season. We love it. The new batch of players coming in are learning the ways of why we hate St. Louis. Scarecrows keep birds away from eating. So in hockey terms the St. Louis Scarecrows keep us away from eating which means WINNING! The Detroit Falcons do not like when you take away from us. So we hate you…. Anyway, this series has been good to watch as hockey fan. A lot of back and forth games, both teams played each other in a snow globe type bubble in St. Louis for the outside game where Detroit dominated that game. Detroit looks like a different team when faced off in game two and three of the series this season. Detroit was out scored 10 to 2. The games were both 5 to 1 and Detroit’s defense were as major issue in the early stages of the series. But th me offense was as well, we had no offense and we could not get any shots on goal during the first part of this series and then something just clicked. Detroit Falcons have won the last three matchups against the St. Louis Scarecrows. Detroit is a team that needed time to mature their young players. And when they were ready… well as started winning games. And this game was like the other three Detroit has played St. Louis. Detroit started out in the first period with a 1 to 0 lead by none other than yours truly… Zakkira Diporov. Scored in the 14 minute mark. Zakkira Diporov gets the puck from Tyler Avery, Zakkira Diporov skates up the left side passes it to Sammy Blaze. The Detroit Falcons are in the Scarecrows zone, Sammy Blaze finds a open Evangelos Giannopoulos, and he shoots a one timer, bounces off the St. Louis goalie and in!!! Zakkira Diporov scored the first goal of the game. Detroit took an early 1 to 0 lead going into the second period. Detroit Falcons would score a quick into the second period, 12 seconds to be exact. Taisto Jutila has the puck he he sends it in to Daedalus James who dekes around the Scarecrow defender, passes it to Monkey Mann Jr who immediately passes it to Taisto Jutila snaps it in off a one timer and wizzes by the St. Louis Scarecrows goalie, and make it a 2 to 0 game. Detroit would score another goals to bring it to 3 to 0. They are dominated this game. And would go on to win 3 to 1. The back up goalie for the Detroit Falcons Tyler Avery was just spectacular in between the pipes today! The new goalie for the Falcons is going to be good in the future look out for him. He does hand big shoes to fill when Thor leaves for the SHL, but I think he will do just fine! Go Falcons!!! SKREEE!!!

Game 43: Detroit Falcons vs. Newfoundland Berserkers

Last time we seen this Detroit Falcons team they were dominated their arch rivals the St. Louis Scarecrows. They were in charge of that game from the very beginning. Speaking of dominated. The Detroit Falcons have been dominated the Newfoundland Berserkers as of late. In the last game we saw these two face off in was a game nobody believed would happen. The defending Four Star Cup Champions the Newfoundland Berserkers were near 9 to 2 by these young Detroit Falcons. It was a magnificent game for Detroit, the defense was just making great decisions and reading the offense very quickly and reacting to the puck, and where and when it was going to be passed in the zone. The offense was amazing of course, the Detroit Falcons team scored nine times. Sammy Blaze had a hat trick, and had an assist as well. Thor had a fantastic game. The Newfoundland Berserkers had 59 shots on goal in that game. Thor saved 57! 57!!! Wow… Thor was the third star in that game. The locker room in that game was bumpin!!! We were going nuts goal after goal after goal! We scored so many goals in that game. It was an amazing time. The most goals scored in a game I have been in since I joined the SHL. Detroit played Newfoundland before this big massive 9 to 2 victory. The Detroit Falcons put up a shutout against Newfoundland Berserkers, and it was magnificent. Detroit beat Newfoundland Berserkers 4 to 0. Thor got the fist star in that game, he was lights out, and he was just standing on his head, save after save. Detroit is flying high right now, they just beat their arch rivals the St. Louis Scarecrows and they are red hot against this Newfoundland Berserkers team, winning the last two meetings against them. So, we came into this game a little cocky. And it came back to bite us in the butt. Newfoundland Berserkers were here to play this time. It was a different team than we saw last time these two teams played. Detroit would score 4 seconds after Newfoundland would. Our goal scorer leader Sammy Blaze tied the game up. Yngve Simonsson gets the puck off of Thor’s pad. Hd takes it and skates past the Berserkers defense to a one on one with the goalie, Yngve Simonsson gets the door slammed in his face. He recovered the rebound and sees a open Sammy Blaze and he shoots and scores after a top shelf goal, it hit the water bottle above the net. Game is tied at 1 to 1. Newfoundland would rattle off 2 more goals to end the first period. But Detroit makes it a 3 to 2 game in the third period after a quiet second period, but that was the last goal we would score in this game. Newfoundland Berserkers would score two more goals in the third period to improve the score to 5 to 2. Detroit Falcons lose their streak against the Newfoundland Berserkers and their record now with seven games left is 12-28-3, adding up 27 points. We still got 7 games left until playoffs and we are getting ready to see who we will play in the first round. I am excited to get this season over and done and get to playoff hockey! This Detroit Falcons team is primed and ready!!! Go Falcons!!! SKREEE!!!
