No need to make graphics, media for these guys for a long time. I don't know... Maybe that's only me, but I think that's too much. I think it might be less - like 500K for each step, so you can get up to like 4M or 5M. Doing this already gives you max SHL equipment for 28 TPE (worth 8,5M) and there's even 500K left...

Players who earn the full 9 Million will be set for their first season and some time into their next, but the cost of improved SHL training and equipment will add up quick. Our thoughts behind having a larger amount of money was to help mitigate the harsh impact that come with increased costs after being drafted by an SHL team. Players who want to max earn will still have a daunting task ahead of them, but this way we help our newer members (And first time returning just to be fair) not have to run straight into the imposing wall that can be sustaining a bank account.

Wow 9m is significant. Not complaining at all, like pointed out above, the cost of a full player's career is massive and this is but a small benefit in the long run.

It will however shift the crunch and need for money coupled with the desire to max earn a little later into the first gen users' careers (by the end of their 2nd or 3rd junior season). Plus making them more accustomed to the site, sim and everything else with these onboarding tasks will only improve their short and long term experience.

I know I felt that same "what do I do now" moment after my first 15minutes on the site.

It costs about $8.5 million to max earn with money your first season, and then costs roughly $16.5 million to get a max earning SHL season. This really doesn't get them very far after their rookie year.

And that's excluding losing in the casino.

Bumping to make everyone aware of some edits we have made. We have changed 2 tasks slightly.

4. Complete a PT (“Your first PT” and the "Rookie Survey PT" do not count)
- Please link to the claim thread of a PT you are submitting for this instead of linking the PT itself. We hope that will make tracking and verification easier on the recruitment team and keep us from being the determining force on what is or is not a PT or counts as a PT.
5. Create a graphic
- Please put that this graphic is a "Rookie Task Graphic" in the title of the thread. Every graphic that is submitted as a rookie task graphic will receive a base payout equivalent to a grade of .5 / 5 on the graphics grading scale for 125k. With the 1M received for doing this task we hope this mitigates that payout and also makes things much easier on the graphics team. By labeling it a "Rookie Task Graphic" as well you will not use your 1st time graphic bonus.
If you do not label the graphic with "Rookie Task Graphic" then you will be submitted to normal grading guidelines and will use up your 1st time graphic bonus.

We changed task 4 to not allow the use of the "Rookie Survey PT" anymore. The survey is already a separate task and we didn't want it to count for 2 different tasks. As well as the thought behind this is to have the rookie actually doing a PT and updating. We also changed it to link a claim thread that they are awarded TPE for the PT instead of linking the PT itself. Hopefully with this change it will allow the recruitment team easier verification of PT credit.

Task 5 was a bigger change. After talking more with the graphics team we came to a joint conclusion to change this a bit. If we had every graphic for this submitted for normal grading then the graphics team would be wildly overloaded with things to grade which would back up a lot of their schedule. As well as them bringing to our attention that by submitting the graphic for grading it would use the rookie 1st time bonus of the graphic on what might be a less than ideal graphic to use it on. So going forward if the title of the post includes "Rookie Task Graphic" the graphics team will bypass using the 1st time bonus and will also give a set payout agreed upon to make things easier and quicker for them. If you think your graphic is well enough to use for grading, you don't have the 1st time bonus anymore (recreates and rookie who have already done a graphic), or you simply forget to put "Rookie Task Graphic" in the title then your graphic will be submitted for normal grading and the 1st time bonus will be used if it had not been already.

@TheDangaZone

So there is no Task 4 or Task 6 available for RFA's so far then?

Not quite yet. The first eligible task for task 4 will probably be the IP threads which will be up I assume this week/into next week. I'm not sure when the grading would be done on those. For task 6 I'm not sure when the deep dive's go up in the season but those are after the season starts. Both would be available to everyone at the same time when they go up.

So the graphics task always gives the same pay, if someone does low effort graphics? And there is no incentive to actually try to submit decent graphics?

Sounds pretty pointless.

It was unfortunately a fine line to walk because graphics team would be getting swamped with a ton of graphics for grading from this. It's why we also gave them the option to submit it as normal if they want to get it graded and get a potential better payout they would just be using their 1st time bonus just like if they submitted something for grading as normal. In the end it's not much different it just allows some low effort graphics made specifically for the rookie task to be labeled as such and quickly paid out by the graphics team instead of them having to grade all those as well.

Might as well just give them the 1m for free then.

I mean... are you taking issue with new rookies getting some extra help when starting out?

As an SMJHL GM you should know that its difficult for a good number of people who are new to sim leagues to get some money in the beginning. This is something that gets them some help while not overwhelming the graphics team. This also isn't the first of its kind when it comes to sim leagues, both the PBE and ISFL have something similar. I'm just having a really hard time grasping your issue here.
