B.B.B. (Breakdown of BAP's Babies) ((A review of BAP's draft picks) (2X draft media)
#1

This past draft saw BAP's GM's Zoone and JR pull more magic out of the hat. Throughout the history of the SHL draft, top draft picks have been known to be fairly strong performers as seen by the recent article about the best player at each pick throughout history. This draft however turned out to be deeper than initially expected which is great to see as the draft after a reddit draft is usually seen as a thinner draft. This past draft there were a little over 40 players taken meaning that Baltimore could only take one player in the top half (soley in terms of numerically not in any way in terms of actual value) of the draft. However with their two picks they were able to grab some real good players with them.

The first pick was at #24 with Rob Wright with agent @Snuffalupagus

Rob Wright's junior season was not something that stands out as he did get a bit buried in the Battleborn depth chart. He was able to chip in 16 points on a lower scoring team so this nothing to scoff about. He did make the most of his minutes though and is expecting a much bigger role this season with Nevada. However when drafting a player you have to look at the history of their agent both in terms of player and character. First off when you look at his bank, agent snuffy is loaded. He is currently sitting at 57.3 mil. This will allow him to pay for all the hookers and blow... I mean both all the time and those big offseason sessions that are quite expensive. Although his second player was not a star, you can look at his history with his initial player who was Kelly Rivet. That was a name that was feared as he was someone who retired on top. Snuff is someone who I personally enjoy talking to in Nevada and was a great choice at 24 for the Platoon.

The Second and only other pick the Platoon had was Victor Federov @Serpe x 13

Federov like many other junior rookie players did not have a great first season as there are many more veteran players in the juniors then there used to be. However is growth as a player is proven to be undeniable. On his juniors team alone he has passed his fellow draftee as well as some players who are a year older in him in skill. This also correlates to his time on the ice as he averaged more minutes then Wright did for his junior team. When it comes to his agent Serpe has also built up quite a bank account. Currently he is sitting at 42.1 mil which will also allow him to consistently train as well as be able to have the big offseason training sessions that new Baltimore teammate Write will be able to afford. He is also someone that has been around the SHL a long time so he knows what it takes to make a great player including his last one who finished his career on top.

It would be hard to grade the Baltimore draft with such few picks and not having a pick in the top 20 (mostly just because people like to use the idea of: "Top 20 .... of all time" as an example) However, what the Platoon have turned those assets into is something that has yet to be seen as they develop. Look for these picks to be the finishing pieces of the Platoon rebuild.

Draft Grade: B+
