Star-Light: Luffy Richard, Pre-Season Finale
#1

Good Day, Star Gang. It is I, your Keyboard Warrior here to bring you another brief recap of the day that was in the Simulation Hockey League. Today is the final day of sims for the pre-season, and tomorrow the fun and excitement of our fifty-seventh season will be underway. Yesterday, the North Stars took a beating with the low-light of the day being a ten to two drubbing at the hands of the Edmonton Blizzard. Hopefully, the North Star leadership can right the ship and work out the bugs in this finely tuned hockey machine that they've put together.

The first game saw the Toronto North Stars at Buffalo Stampede. It was the first case where the older, less opulent, Luffy met his younger, and some would say much more distinguished, rival--more or less. The North Stars put a ton of heart on the ice. Seriously, it looked like Link destroyed a room full of jars, but they came up short and Lossed two to three. This loss did not come before Luffy Richard gave that Monkey fellow a snowstorm for his troubles. This is a storyline we shall see develop throughout the season. Ha, I'm just kidding. Coach isn't going to let Richard guard the Monkey.

The second game of the day saw the Toronto North Stars at Edmonton Blizzard. As previously mentioned, and observed with my own two binarically generated eyes, the Blizzard beat the North Stars like rented mules. It was hard to watch, but fun to destroy Luffy's threadbare self-esteem with tape of his on-ice performance. This time, the North Stars made a mighty push to come back, but fell short, losing two to three.

The final game of the day, and final game of pre=season, saw the Manhatten Rate come visit our beloved Toronto North Stars. With frustration mounting, the North Stars put on a real banger of a show, winning two to three.

Luffy Richard scored his first goal and added two hits and two blocked shots on the day. His team gave him some vigorous stick taps for that goal, mostly because they were surprised he knew where the net was. At least, that is what this reporter believes. Luffy Richard finished the pre-season extravaganza with three points (1 goal and two assists), nine hits, five blocked shots, and a minus-four. Sufficed to say, the dominance of last season has given way to the reality of Big Boy ice-time. Tomorrow the real works begin for the Toronto North Stars, and Luffy Richard must answer the bell, or face the reality that he should have hung up his skates instead of take off his bib.

Until next time,

Shine on!
