Yanno Rosejac drafted in the most recent shl draft class 20th overall has just wrapped up his first ever training camp with the Seattle Argonauts. Although the Argo brass were impressed with his performance, they have unsurprisingly sent him back down to their affiliate hockey club the Colorado Raptors. There he will continue to develop and train to one day become the number one man in Seattle.
Reporter- Yanno, last season was your first complete season of pro hockey with the Raptors, now just wrapping up an SHL training camp, how do you think this camp helped you in any way as you are heading down to the smjhl league? Yanno- Ah well, let me just tell you that those shots from the point are coming a little faster than what I am used to at the moment, the crisp tape to tape passes out there, you really got to keep your head o a swivel. So smjhl being a tad slower in game pace will definitely be an eye opener for me. Also the guys up here are true professionals and bring their "A" game to every occasion, practice, games, or events, they are the face of the team. Reporter- Yes they are, so tell me Yanno, who was the first guy to make you feel at home so to speak and has any one player sort of taken you under their wings? Yanno- It happened so fast the first time I walked into that dressing room it was kinda of a blur...but "trips" I think was the one to really take me in and opened up the doors to a great bunch of guys. But he was not alone really, all had their share one by one in helping me break that ice. Well "Mc" really keeps to himself so they tell me so I never really bothered him, but "Odi" being a rookie like myself is one guy for sure I look to emulate as this is not the first training camp he has attended and knows a thing or two about the team. Really proud for him this year, he gets a chance to show case his stuff, and who knows one day i'll be here as his back up. Reporter- Okay so now heading back down to Colorado, what are the team expectations for the season 57? Yanno- Haha, well we lost a couple of savvy veterans you know? So the rest of us here will have to pick up the void left behind. With the great crop of guys management brought i last season and with the recent draft class, Jumbo and Birdman really did well in placing us in a position to maybe make some noise. I mean its every teams ultimate goals to win the 4* cup but like I said we are not the only ones to want to, So as for team expectations, I would have to say would be an honest work ethic combined with a great team spirit and our talent should take care of the rest! Hopefully the FHM gods owe us a little. Reporter- Any personal goals you may have made for yourself? Team related maybe or in your everyday life? Yanno- Yeah thats one bullet to bite when and if you make em but do not attain them. But as I was taught, always best if you gonna fall might as well fall forward and not backward. Meaning set the goals as high as possible and hope for the best, putting in the work will only help achieve what seeam unachievable. For sure the one thing I want is the four star cup, and that itself is the ultimate, but more on the personal side, awards, any and all goaltending awards possible.....I just want to be the best for my team and in doing so I also want to be the best in the league. In every day life I have started meditating, yup I meditate, helps calm me down and stay focused at whats at hand. Reporter- Okay Yanno last one and thats it, what is your favorite pizza toping and what is your least favorite? Yanno- Easy, well can I have a top 2...no...okay well then its for sure the cheese! Without it you have no pizza, it is the base of all pizzas and therefore the best! As for least favorite, as in never will, never have type a thing, well its a tie between two, anchovies a definite NO and I have to throw it in there I don't care if its only one but also NO PINEAPPLES! Alright alright Yanno well you heard it here first folks, no anchovies and no pineapple pizza for Rosejac. There you have a first inside story with Colorado sophmore and Seattle rookie prospect Yanno Rosejac. The future is bright for these two teams and having a young man poised for greatness can only be positive. (word count 830) ![]() Registered Used to be cool
