The Detroit Falcons went into this draft looking to capitalize and make a big impact on the league going forward. After finishing with the worst record in the league last season, the Falcons were ready to start turning their franchise around. In this draft they possessed 3 picks in the first 4 overall picks and they intended to make good use of them. It was a long and difficult process to decide, but the three players they went within those picks and the players they picked up later in the draft were very solid and overall it was a very good draft for Detroit. When Detroit's first pick came at 2 overall they decided to use it on Luc Blouin. The user behind Luc is an SHL GM and seems to be an amazing earner within the league. Blouin is a Right Defenseman, but he is very solid on both sides of the puck. So far in his training with the Detroit coaches they have really been focusing on his passing, puckhandling, accuracy, offensive and defensive read, checking, stamina, and strength. His enthusiasm on the ice and amazing ability to earn well and train hard will no doubt make him a staple in Detroit's core going forward for many seasons. After selecting Luc, it was time for Detroit to pick again immediately after. With their 3rd overall pick, the Falcons decided to go with Pavel Jeziak. Pavel is a right-wing who plays the offensive side of the puck. His current TPE is sitting at 237 and his earning is showing that it has no place to go but up. His work with the coaches in Detroit has been amazing as his prowess on the ice is extremely strong. Some abilities in which he really excels is his ability to get open and shoot accurately and effectively. He also has quite a bit of stamina in his body. He can go for long periods of time on the ice without too much danger on his body and his well-being. Overall this guy is an amazing athlete and I no-doubt think that he will go on to do some great things in this league. He is a recreate so he is established, but overall this seems like a very good pick for Detroit. After the third pick in the draft had been announced and the team moved back onto the clock for their third first-round pick and they intended to make it count. After some deliberation, they finally decided that the best use of this very high and very powerful pick was on center named Kermit Murphy. Since joining the team Murphy has been an amazing earner and backbone for this Detroit team. Largely he focused on his physical abilities and strong suits, notably in his stamina and strength, to really up his game to a new level over his opponents on the ice. His 252 TPE is very respectable, and likely will keep him as a part of the Detroit core for a few seasons well into their window. After these 3 very high picks, the Falcons did not have another pick until the 5th round at 49th overall. By this point in the draft the pool was a bit thin, but there was still some talent. With the pick, Detroit decided to take Center Neal Turner. Turner has been alright for Detroit in the earning department as it looks as he has done several point tasks and worked on several updates in his previous few days, but he is still only 194 TPE. He seems to be an active guy so let's hope he turns it around and has a long and prosperous career in the SHL. Finally, after the draft was in its final stages the Falcons made their final pick. They selected Robert Ales who is a Right Defense. He has only earned 6 TPE up to this point and has not posted on the site in a month. Overall a very solid class for Detroit that will provide key parts to their core going forward!
