(GRADED) S57 Berserkers Draft/Season Deep Dive #1

The Newfoundland Berserkers have been a team for quite awhile before the season 57 draft but going into it they were hoping to have a decent bounce back year while brining in a lot of new rookies for  the new season. With the 11th overall pick they picked up Billy Brooks who had a decent amount of hype behind him going into it, he had a pretty good pre season recording 4 assists in 7 games played as a defenseman and as the season went on went on to put up 11pts which isn't a ton but what he did defensively made up for it with 91 hits, 24 takeaways and blocking 37 shots which is what the team was looking for from him. After Billy Newfoundland drafted Ric Charlesworth who as well put up 4 points in the pre season and 18 throughout the rest of the regular season which on the bottom of the league team isn't a very bad year at all for a rookie who has a ton of potential to build up over the off season and come back next season with loads of energy and better skills.

Newfoundland wasn't done drafting there and went ahead and traded for both the 37th and 38th pick from DEL acquiring both Nike kickz Jr and Jesse Trudeau respectively, Kickz coming in as the 37th pick for newfoundland ended up with the most points in their rookie season managing 22pts and 7 goals with a few powerplay points spread into there. As a 5'11 center he isn't the biggest one out there but he knows how to put his size to use both defensively throwing the body and finding open ice around the net. The 38th pick they picked up Canadian born player Jesse Trudeau to play on the wing to add some speed to their lineup, being only 5'9 and 175 he is one of the smallest on the team and has to rely on his speed and hockey IQ to stay out of danger. Though he is small though Trudeau is not afraid to block any shot heading towards his goalie recording 27 shot blocks, Trudeau had a bit of a slower year with only 15 points on the year but a very impressive 1 powerplay point with only 1 second of powerplay time. Trudeau still looks to improve in the off season along with all the other rookies and will be working to make sure Newfoundland finishes much higher in the standings next season.

The Berserkers were not done there yet as they still picked up Shion Okamoto with the 50th pick in the draft, Okamoto put up a very impressive rookie season as a late pick recording 20 points with 9 goals as a defenseman. He is a very big Dman who comes in at a towering 6'6 weighing around 230lbs from Japan which is very rare to see but Newfoundland is happy to of been able to snag him up in this years draft. Overall Newfoundland had a bit of a disappointing season from what they were hoping for from the start but they know what they have to do and with these additions plus next drafts higher picks they should get to where they want to be sooner than later.
