I Want To Hear Your Favorite Album
#1
(This post was last modified: 03-06-2021, 10:33 AM by Nictox.)

Hello SHL! I remember Nour doing something like this awhile ago, but never completing it. I want to hear your favorite album! I’ll even write a review for it and tell you my thoughts. I don’t care what genre you give me, I’ll listen to it and give my honest opinion.

Like Nour, I’ll be picking the first 50 albums commented below. One submission per user, so make sure you pick your favorite! Feel free to add a comment about why it’s your favorite or any fun facts I should know before listening. This could take a few weeks to do, but I look forward to hearing all the music!

Honorable mentions that didn't make the list:
51. Uncle Fucker - Terrance and Phillip (Joshua_Horsemenzada)

58. Enema of the State - Blink-182 (takethehorizon)
59. The Silver Scream - Ice Nine Kills (Ragnar)

Also, here are my top 5 albums that make my regular rotation:

1. Southeastern - Jason Isbell
Folk/Americana. My favorite songwriter of all time. Isbell has many great records that I highly suggest but this is the one that has some of my favorite written songs. If you want something with a bit more rock and roll, check out "The Nashville Sound" which is a close second to this one for me. Favorite track: Elephant

2. Live at the Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers
Blues/Jam. The Allman Brothers are what got me into the blues and what made me want to be a better guitar player in general. What really drew me to them was their 20 min long songs of just improve solos from the whole band. Music you can feel. Favorite Track: Whipping Post

3. Wildlife - La Dispute
Experimental Hardcore? It's hard to put a pin in their genre. This album flows so well together. This is one of two bands that I have listened to consistently from high school. They build songs as whole where not one instrument is more important than the other, including vocals. Lyrically, one of the best song writers I have ever heard. He basically writes poetry for the music being played. Favorite track: Harder Harmonies

4. RTJ4 - Run The Jewels
Rap/Hip Hop. I love RTJ. My wife does not. This album came out in 2020 and is my favorite of theirs. Clever lines and the music itself is great. I usually put this album on when I'm cleaning the house or playing chel. Favorite Track: holy calamafuck

5. Nothing is True & Everything is Possible - Enter Shikari
Genre depends on the song/album, Hardcore/Electronic/Pop/Metal? This is the other band that I have been following since high school. Their music has matured over the years and they have never done 2 albums the same. This is their newest album which is a good starting point in what they are all about. Favorite Track: T.I.N.A.

I don't know if it's my favorite album, but I really really fucking dig "It's Nothing Personal" by Bury Your Dead. Different lead vocalist than their other albums, and he incorporates more singing than screaming.

heblo nic, i will give you an option.

The following album is considered the 1st electronic album ever released. This 1968, 14 song album won 3 Grammy’s in 1969, for Best Classical Album, Best Classical Performance, and Best Engineered Recording. Artist Wendy Carlos, then Walter Carlos, has been living as a woman since 1968 and released her first album under Wendy in 1980. Anyway this ground breaker decided to play Sebastian Bach on her Moog Modular Synthesizer.

Switched on Bach - Wendy Carlos

The other option is my ATL favorite.
Red Light District - Ludacris
