(x2 draft media)

I am going to be looking at every SMJHL team and their eligible draftees.

Jack Lewis

20 GP - 6W - 10L - 2OTL - 3.50GAA - .884 SV%

Lewis is a weak player and performer in a position that is not in the highest of demand in the league currently as we have a large goalie log jam. His 3.50 Goals against puts him bottom 5 in the league while his save percentage ranks 3 worst among all goalies. Lewis has not been seen training at the Outlaws' facility which doesn't bode well for his future.

Max Mueller

66 GP - 6G - 6A - 12P - 42 Hits

Mueller had a fairly decent season as a rookie defender on the Outlaws this season putting up 6 goals and 12 points. Mueller ranks near the bottom of training in the league but he is slowly working his way to improve and if he does he has a chance of making his way to a big league roster at some point. Mueller is a fairly even player and doesn't excel at anything in particular. He will need to continue to work on his shot blocking ability if he wants to grab a spot with a big league team.

Cole Carter

35 GP - 1G - 2A - 3P

Cole Carter comes from a long lineage of failed SHLers and it seems like Cole is the next iteration of this. Cole hasn't trained much since the beginning of December and it is hard to see him cracking an SHL roster while not putting the effort in to get there.

Jorg Fuchs

66 GP - 2G - 16A - 18P

Fuchs had a very promising first season with the Armada, finishing with 16 assists and 18 points on the backend. Fuchs is a mobile defender with good hands and fantastic vision on the offensive side of the ice. He is a liability at this point on the defensive side of the game and he will need to clean that end of the game up if he hopes to be a reliable defender in the SHL.

Gregory Goode

66 GP - 7G - 32A - 39P - 24SB

Gregory is as "Goode" as it gets in this draft. The slick puck moving defenseman lit the world on fire as rookie, putting up a superb 39 points. Goode sits 3rd in total time training at the time of writing this and his team of advisors and trainers have a good history of producing SHL calibre players. Goode is a sound defender in his own end with offensive gifts flowing through his body. He may need to work on his skating and toughness a little bit, but that is nit picking at this point. Whoever drafts Goode will be drafting a future SHL All-star.

David S. Pumpkins

66 GP - 7G - 8A - 15P

Pumpkins is a player with solid upside and should be taken in the latter half of the 2nd round or beginning of the third. Pumpkins put up 7 goals on 10% shooting, a number that probably won't translate throughout his career, but is impressive nonetheless. Pumpkins is a true power forward with solid capabilities in the defensive zone. Pumpkins will have to improve his shooting abilities drastically as well as focus on his edge-work to try and develop a little more speed.

Bean Beanman

66 GP - 8G - 17A - 25P

Beanman was another fantastic player on the blue-line for the Armada, posting 25P in his first season in the league. Beanman sits 22nd in training in the draft and should continue to try and climb his way up the rankings. Double Bean has a very even skillset which I think would make him a safe pick in this draft as he is super moldable which a lot of teams will salivate at. He is ranked 22nd in training but I could see him go early in the 2nd round and would not be surprised.

Paul Binder

66 GP - 8G - 19A - 27P

We cap off the group in Anchorage with another very good player. Binder definitely played a little bit better than his skill set suggests, but that is not a bad thing. Binder is a playmaking winger with fantastic ability on the defensive end which is something all teams love to have. There are question marks about his ability to keep up with speed in the majors and it will be something scouts factor in highly when his time comes to being picked.

Finn Von Murphenstein

66 GP - 6G - 16A - 22P - 59SB

We kick off the Kraken prospects with a first round talent in Murphenstein, the all around defensive prospect. Murphenstein put up 22 points while adding 59 blocked shots. The 8th ranked player in regards to training is good to great in all facets of the game, from his sound positioning, to his puck moving ability to his difficulty to be knocked off the puck, Murphenstein has it all. The team that drafts Murphenstein will be grabbing a player with great potential.

Ole Olson

66 GP - 6G - 22A - 28P - 83SB

The player currently one point ahead of his partner in training, Olson completes the Kraken's 1-2 punch on the back end for the next few seasons to come. Olson finished his first season with 28 points while adding 83 blocked shots and 98 hits. Olson is a prototypical defender standing at 6'3 and weighing in at 220 pounds. He is a player that focuses on his end of the game with great ability to take the puck away and prevent scoring opportunities while adding an offensive spark to complete his whole game. Just like Murphenstein, the team that grabs Olson will be getting a player that will help them for years to come.

Dexter Vaughn

43 GP - 2G - 6A - 8P

Not much to say about this one. Vaughn was strictly used as a reserve roster spot and did that job admirably. I do not expect him to be pick in this draft.

Golden Face

66 GP - 6G - 13A - 19P

Golden Face is a slow earner but an earner nonetheless who will find himself being drafted in the later rounds. While he only put up 19 points this season, Face has the offensive upside to entice an SHL team to take a chance on him. While his offensive side is up to snuff, Gold Face will need to work on his very poor defensive abilities as well as his skating. It will be interesting to see if Face makes a big jump because if he does, he could be a top end player.

Tomas Lind

66 GP - 15G - 13A - 28P

Lind was a key contributor as a rookie for the Kraken as he finished 4th on the team in goals with 15 even while being a mid-tier earner. Lind is an accurate shooter who does not mind putting himself in front of the net to screen the goalie. Lind will need to work on his defensive skillsĀ  and his skating before making the jump.

Coco Colin

66 GP - 6G - 6A - 12P

Similar to Vaughn, Coco is a roster filler and not a player to have on anyones radar.

Leon Schweingruber

66 GP - 7G - 9A - 16P

Schweingruber kicks off the Raptors draftees with a bang as the 11th ranked forward in this draft by training time at the time of this writing. Schweingruber struggled to put points on the board but his upside is there. Leon has the speed and the playmaking ability while being arguably one of the best players on the draft from the face-off dot. He will need to work on his defense quite a bit but I would not be surprised to see him go in the middle of the 2nd round.

Basil Sivart

66 GP - 3G - 14A - 17P - 55SB

Sivart is another one on the Raptors who underperformed on the ice but the tools are there to be an SHLer. The 6'4 defender is fantastic in his own zone and has the potential to be the best defensive guy on the backend in this draft. He will need to work on his offensive game a little bit to find a regular spot on the roster but I think he has the ability to get there.

Russell Rattie

No stats available.

I think the fact that he has no stats available tells you all you need to know.

Noel Blanchet

66 GP - 7G - 24A - 31P

Blanchet was the best potential draftee on the ice and is my pick for the best player to come out of the Raptors system this draft. Blanchet had 31 points with his 24 apples showcasing his great playmaking potential. He needs to work on his reads a little bit and I would like to see him put his body on the line a bit more, but his defensive soundness and great skating makes him a real threat in the big leagues.

Reudi Huber

66GP - 12G - 10A - 22P

Huber is a mid-tier earner but still showcases the effort to want to improve. Huber does seem to be a little bit more invested in his life as a day trader than a hockey player but his even if not unspectacular skillset is enough to get him drafted later in the draft.

Rovolio Clocksburg Jr

66GP - 3G - 12A - 15P

Clocksburg was good for the Raptors this season putting up 15 points. However he doesn't seem to care to make the jump to the bigs and I don't see him being drafted.

Connor Broussard

No stats available.

Twenty Twenty

66 GP - 6G - 6A - 12P

Twenty Twenty is very similar to Clocksburg in that he seemed like someone with a future but he just didn't put the effort in.

Brian Ruddy

36 GP - 5G - 5A - 10P

Ruddy had a 27% shooting percentage and 10 points in 36 games. He was well on his way to being a big piece on the ice. However off the ice he told management that he thought he should be getting top line minutes and that pretty much killed any draft stock he had.

Luc Blouin

66 GP - 6G - 21A - 27P - 88SB

We kick off the Falcons prospects with a guaranteed first round talent in Blouin. Blouin finished his first season with 27 points and 88 blocked shots , becoming a key player on Detroit's roster. Blouin ranks as the 10th best player by training. Luc lacks in the speed department but makes up for it with great playmaking ability and aggressive defensive skills.

Kermit Murphy

66 GP - 10G - 17A - 27P - 234H

Murphy brings something to the game that not a lot of potential high picks in this draft bring and that is their willingness to throw the body around. Murphy finished 3rd in the league in hits with 234 while also adding 10 goals to help the Falcons cause. Kermit plays as your prototypical checking line forward but if he can improve his offensive talent he could be in the mold of a Brendan Shanahan.

Pavel Jeziak

66 GP - 12G - 15A - 27P

Jeziak is your classic smooth skating sniper who will shoot as many times as they can. There isn't much on the defensive end to his game yet and he may need to focus on his puck handling and playmaking skills as his years go on, but his offensive upside will be very tantalizing.

Robert Ales

13 GP - 5G - 2A - 7P

Ales fell down the draft board hard after coming in hot. Don't expect him to be picked.

Neal Turner

66 GP - 4G - 6A - 10P

Turner suited up for all 66 games for the Falcons this season, but he doesn't seem like a player that will be taken in this upcoming draft.

Yan Dolff

66 GP - 11G - 13A - 24P

Where the last two players wont find a team at the draft, Yan Dolff definitely will. Dolf is a playmaking winger but a big frame and the ability to put himself in the proper position on both ends of the ice. Dolff's 11 goals hinted at an ability to put the puck in the net but he isn't going to be a guy that goes hunting for goal and can be a bit passive. Nonetheless, Dolff has enough skills to be picked up later in the draft.

Roboute Guilliman

66 GP - 3G - 17A - 20P

Guilliman is a player that you pick on the pure potential of them and not their overall performance on the ice....and the potential is definitely tantalizing. He is 6 foot, 200 pound center with a balanced offensive game. He can make plays, he has great vision and has a wicked shot. On the flip side, Guilliman will need to get a little bit better on the defensive game.

Gerry Atrick

66 GP - 12G - 13A - 25P

Atrick is a big bodied winger who uses his size to get into the right positions to help get the puck into the net. The powerforward scored 12 goals and added 13 assists this season. While his offensive game looks like it should get better as his career goes on, his defensive game will need a lot of work.

A-Rye Izzy

66 GP - 5G - 13A - 18P

While Izzy had a lacklustre season at best with Knights, his name value alone boosts his draft stock immensely. Izzy has the pedigree of an SHLer as well as the work ethic of one, ranking second on the team in training and top 10 in the league as a whole. Izzy is an offensively gifted defender with a great eye for the open man. He will need to work on his defensive game or else he will be targeted by opposing teams.

Danny C

66 GP - 3G - 14A - 17P - 63SB

The top player in terms of training on the Knights, Danny is another player whose potential plays a big part in his high draft ranking. The 6'2 winger has a great shot and is sound in the defensive zone. He has some of the best handles of the class and is not afraid to put his body in harms way, blocking 63 shots. I think he is a top 5 talent who may fall out of that group of guys. If someone grabs him out of the top 5, they will come away with a steal.

Christopher Ford

66 GP - 8G - 10A - 18P

Ford is a mid tier player who played above his skillset this season for the Knights, scoring 8 goals in about 15 minutes per game. Ford is solid offensively, with a great ability to get open and some real solid puck handling skills. His defensive game is virtually non-existent and he will need to bring those skills up so he isn't eaten alive by the pros.

Travis Konecny

63 GP - 7G - 7A - 14P

Konecny, like Ford is a 3rd-4th round talent who played slightly above his skill set. Konecny is an undersized forward who plays with heart. He isn't afraid to throw the body and makes smart defensive reads. He has a great shot but the rest of his offensive skillset could use some work.

Richard LaFleur

66 GP - 10G - 20A - 30P - 64SB

If LaFleur can build on his fantastic rookie season (30 points), the sky is the limit for the kid. LaFleur is one of the best passers in the back end and throws his body around with the best of them. There aren't a lot of holes in his game right now but that could change if he doesn't keep up his output on the ice.

Loic Therien

No stats.

Never found his way onto the roster so I don't expect him to be picked up in this draft.

Fredrick Stefansson

66 GP - 6G - 11A - 17P

Stefansson was well on his way to being a mid round pick but he seems to have fallen off in the last month or so. He has fantastic defensive awareness and could be a great checking line forward if a team takes a flyer on him in the later rounds of the draft.

Jonny Tsunami

66 GP - 19G - 13A - 32P

Candidate for best name in the draft, Tsunami is offensively gifts as he had 32 points and was 1 goal away from the 20 goal plateau. Tsunami is the best pure goal scorer in draft, checking all the boxes from shot power to accuracy to his ability to find his spot on the ice. He will need to work on his defensive game, but his rank of 3rd in training in the entire draft, suggests he can get that part figured out. A sure fire top 5 pick.

Dogwood Maple

66 GP - 10G - 10A - 20P

14th in training, but the number 1 good boi in the draft, Dog has a high ceiling going into this thing. Where Tsunami is a fantastic goal scorer, Maple will be the guy feeding Tsunami the puck for seasons to come as he has fantastic vision and a soft touch with the puck. Similar to Tsunami however is his poor defensive ability.

Don Reid

43 GP - 2G - 6A - 8P

Reid is a reserve player who will not be a factor in this draft.

Ellis McPickle

66 GP - 9G - 8A - 17P

While Reid was a reserve player all season for the Timbers, McPickle got some big boy minutes but fizzled out.

Puddles O'Duck

66 GP - 7G - 15A - 22P

The mascot from the Oregon Ducks has found a second career as a defender in the SHL. The duck finished with 22 points and showed a knack for finding the right player. While he had 22 points, he is more tailored to a stay at home role at this point although that could definitely change in the future.

Vladlen Sidorov

66 GP - 5G - 13A - 18P

The lone prospect for the Battleborn, Sidorov performed relatively well with 18 points. The face-off dynamo is a solid offensive player who leaves his defence at home. There are huge question marks regarding his worth ethic that may drop his draft stock.

Billy Brooks

66 GP - 2G - 9A - 11P - 91H

The number 1 ranked defender and number 2 overall on the training list has all the tools to go high in the draft. He throws the body around and is not afraid to put his body on the line to help his team. Brooks will not jump off on the scoresheet with his offensive abilities, but any team that drafts him are taking a rock on the defensive side and can help any offensive defender have the confidence to play their own game.

Ric Charlesworth

66 GP - 5G - 13A - 18P

Charlesworth has the tools to be an SHL player someday but his offseason training regiment has been hit or miss. Charlesworth picks his spots on the ice and has the ability to make good plays.

Jesse Trudeau

66 GP - 4G - 11A - 15P

Trudeau has been a slow riser in this draft but has some gifts there to picked in a middle round of this draft. While he is an obvious defensive liability and has shown no real care on that end, he has the offensive tools to crack a roster. He can pass and he can shoot and he has a good sense of where to be while in the offensive zone.

Ilya Sokolov

6 GP - 0 Points

Sokolov is more like Suckolov and will not be drafted.

Shion Okamoto

66 GP - 9G - 11A - 20P

Okamoto is a slow gainer but has the ability to improve at his own pace. Okamoto is a towering defender, coming in at 6'6 and weighing in at 230 pounds and he puts that body to use, taking out opposing players and striking fear in them. Okamoto is a little slow footed and will need to be in good positioning to not get blown by faster skaters.

Nike Kickz Jr

66 GP - 7G - 15A - 22P

Kickz Jr joins in his father's footsteps and made the leap to the SMJHL and has paid dividends for the Berserkers already. Kickz is a playmaking winger with top end speed with shifty movement. While not very physical, he is aggressive enough for puck battles and can handle his own in that regard.

Leon Athanasios

66 GP - 8G - 11A - 19P

Leon is an offensive dynamo hailing from Greece. He has a great shot with fantastic accuracy. Shows solid puckhandling and decent speed. He has a tendency to gas out and will need to improve his defensive game before making the jump to the pros.

Tim Allen Jr

No stats available.

Tim should have followed in his father's footsteps as a tv show star because he may have had a future.

Hex Rose

63 GP - 7G - 4A - 11P

Rose saw some ice time with the Berserkers this season but he doesn't seem to be on the radar of the SHL GMs

Bjorn Jakobsen

66 GP - 14G - 20A - 34P

Jakobsen, like the rest of the players on Quebec had tremendous seasons on the ice that could bode well for his draft stock. Jakobsen is a master of none type of player; he doesn't do anything bad but doesn't really excel at anything either. This isn't a knock as is makes him very moldable when he goes to the big leagues and that something to be excited about, especially when that guy is a top 5 trainee.

Mew Two

66 GP - 7G - 11A - 18P

The misunderstood pokemon has taken his massive size (6'7, 269 pounds) and made the switch to the ice rink. Mew Two is a great offensive player who can stand in front of the next for redirects, but also has the handles and the shot to not become a one trick pony. His defense is non-existent and will need work.

Brian Davenport

66 GP - 3G - 10A - 13P

On such a deep roster, someone was destined to be the low man on the totem pole and sadly it was Davenport. That being said, he has the tools to be an SHLer. Davenport is a fantastic playmaker, who makes good reads on the ice and has great accuracy with his shot although he does not use that shot often. As with a lot of players in this draft, his defense will need some work before making the transition.

Tyler Cannon

No Stats

You could shoot this guy out of a cannon and forget his name.

Kit Kirkstone

6W - 8L - 2.68GAA - 918 SV%.

Kirkstone is one of the few goalies in this draft who may actually find a roster to call their own although I don't expect him to be drafted high. Kirkstone has a great glove and blocker but will struggle with shots on the ice and redirects.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser

66 GP - 6G - 11A - 17P - 153H

He is number 1 in training for all draftees but his gameplay style may find him ultimately out of the top 5. Regardless of that fact, you know you are getting someone who will put their full effort into every game and every practice. While he throws the body around, his game is more suited as a speedy forward with great hands and a knack for scoring.

Greg Davies

66 GP - 5G - 9A - 14P

Davies is a mid tier earner who should find himself on the bubble of the 2nd or 3rd round of this draft. The 6'8 winger is strong and likes to fight. His offensive and defensive game leaves a lot to be desired which makes you question what kind of staying ability he has in this league.

Hunter Sharpe

66 GP - 5G - 6A - 11P

Sharpe is another high earner in the draft falling within the top 15 of all prospects. Sharpe is a playmaking winger with great speed and acceleration which is something that can't be taught. His defense needs work as does his shot a little bit but he had the talent to be a first round to early 2nd round pick.

Jean-Locke Zidane

66 GP - 5G - 24A - 29P - 178H

Zidane is the highest scorer for all Crows rookies with 29 points and a top 20 earner in training. Zidane projects as a puck moving defenseman with amazing defensive abilities to help a pure offensive defender play his game. There really isn't a large hole in Zidane's game other than the fact that opposing teams aren't going to be afraid of his shot.

Nick Grant

66 GP - 8G - 9A - 17P

Grant had a solid season but will not be picked in this draft.

Bean Gamble

No stats available.

No team should take a gamble on this guy.

Daryl Urquhart

60GP - 4G - 11A - 15P

Daryl is a playmaking defender with a great stretch pass. He plays positionally sound but will struggle winning puck battles or opposing his will on others. He should be a mid round pick.

Nikolaj Boyle

66 GP - 9G - 12A - 21P

Boyle is a top 15 trainee with tons of upside. Boyle's game is built on speed as he comes in as one of the fastest players in the draft. He pairs this with good puckhandling and decent passing. His defense and shooting will need work.

Zayne Rotzbua

66 GP - 6G - 15A - 21P

Zayne is a huge man on the backend, coming in at 6'8 and 260 pounds. He is a physically imposing stay at home defender with deceptive speed that will surprise opponents from time to time. Outside of having decent hands, his offensive game is non-existent. He won't be flashy but he will be good.

Casey Outlaw

38 GP - 6G - 5A - 11P

Casey won't be drafted and should be outlawed from your memory.

Narboza Manyhands

66 GP - 3G - 8A - 11P

Manyhands seems like he definitely has more than two of them with his ability to stop opposing players from working in the offensive zone....but also because he is an alien? You have to wonder if his skill set was designed on his planet or maybe he has taken the skills of other players similar to the monstars? Either way I would be weary of drafting Manyhands, not because he isn't skilled but because I am afraid.

Mats Lafleur

66 GP - 4G - 10A - 14P

LaFleur is a good junior player, but not a draftable SHLer.

Austin Smith

66 GP - 13G - 9A - 22P

Smith has the offensive gifts to land a roster spot at some point as showcased by his 13 goals. His playmaking and passing touch compliment his shooting ability while also making fantastic reads in the offensive zone. His lack of defense will hurt him until he figures it out.

Ako Zile

66 GP - 4G - 9A - 13P

We close this list of draftees off with a mid round pick in Ako Zile. Zile has solid speed with a knack at the face-off dot. He has flashes of offensive skill that should improve as he progresses. His defense needs a lot of work.
