Well, team-building exercises used to be a good and easy way for the rookies to connect with each other and also with the players already on the team. But in 2021, the options are pretty limited with COVID-19. You can't really go outside in huge numbers, you're really restricted in what you can do. Detroit is no different so open-air activities and getting wasted afterwards are not possible. So, before training camp began the team leaders decided to organize some video games tournaments played in their hotel rooms. Marco Barengrub did really poorly playing Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes as he can barely speak English. He was paired with Salzberger Lillehammersson and it took all his self-control in the world to not strangle Barengrub. Guys also played rocket league, among us, fall out and many other games. It resulted in a lot of broken controllers, hole in walls but many laughs too. Overall, rookies had a great time connecting through video games but hopefully things can go back to normal.

Detroit doesn't do a heck of a lot of team building exercises, and neither does Sanzhar. But tug of war on ice skates against a zamboni was very entertaining. Everyone thought it was pretty stupid to start with, especially after the ice cleaning behemoth pulled everyone over for the 3rd time. But then Luc Blouin had a great idea, and him and Sanzhar managed to get the thing to stop knocking everyone over so easily. Between their idea and the efforts of the other Falcons, they eventually managed to overpower the zamboni and start tugging it all over the rink. To add insult to injury, the zamboni driver was also required to clean up the ice after they were finished. The team participated in a group gnome dab over the driver to assert their dominance over their home ice, and then fucked off to Metzwaffle for the rest of the evening.

The Newfoundland Berserkers embarked on a journey into the woods for a spot of what turned out to be rather competitive paintball as an act of team building. The new S59 rookies were all paired up on one team in an effort to determine their competitive drive and teamworking. Brits Robert Black and Robert E. O. Speedwagon were a little slow on the uptake given their firearm I experience, with Black's aim in particular matching his poor hockey shooting accuracy early in the day. First overall pick Aleksandrs Balcers showed his prowess as a great shot blocker by absorbing paintball after paintball straight to the chest. Slavakov Vladimirashenko was like a ghost, moving stealthily between tress showing that his inability to get open on the ice translated well to paintball. Veterans Vaseline Podcalzone and Bas O'Bigbers proved to be the most effective paintball players, stalking their opponents and combining to eliminate the most players for a resounding win for the veterans team. All in all, a successful outing which did the job required with the entire team reacting positively to the new arrivals.

Some of the Colorado Raptors players got together for a hike in the Rockies. Some of the players that went along were KEKW Kekkonen, Noel Blanchet, Angus McFife, and Eero Makinen. While they were hiking they saw a lot of interesting stuff. They saw 2 bears, a few coyotes, and several other smaller animals. They also saw Eero take a shit in the woods the size of a brake caliper. Angus has photographic evidence. On the hike back down they decided to stop by a lake and take a swim. Eero almost drowned because he didn't wait 30 minutes after eating the mcgriddle he stashed in his backpack. Noel had to dive in and drag him back to shore. Angus also has photographic evidence of this. After a long day of whatever the fuck I just wrote, the fellas got back to their vehicles and booked it straight home for brews.
