Scarecrow's Regular Season Day 5 (Games 10 and 11)
#1

Day 5 was a rough day, to say the least. It is never a good day when you go 0 - 2. Back to that sad feeling of being below .500. But I am going to try and keep it positive and tell the good stories.

Player of the Day - Hunter Sharpe (Left Wing)

Hunter had a great day both offensively and defensively. It has been a second since I got to write a good story about him, so be prepared. He was able to really work his passing ability earning himself 2 assists. And on defense, he was scary as usual. He had 5 blocked shots with 2 hits and 2 takeaways, really showing his passing isn't his only ability. And even though he was only able to score of passing, he was able to get off 5 shots on goal showing he can really add some pressure and make the goalie make a play. Hunter is really impressive and still growing every day, If he stays at this pace, he will be one of the greatest SHL passers known to mankind. He also might even earn himself a name as one of the best defensive forwards the league has seen in a long time.

Game 10
Top Performer - Daryl Urqhart (Right Defense)

Urqhart has really impressed me. I didn't quite know who he was at first and thought he was really just a defensive player, but he has really surprised me. He has some of the top offensive production on the team. He was one of the few players with a positive 1 +/- and he was able to get himself an assist. And on defense, he was lights out as always. A blocked shot, a hit, and a 70 defensive grade, as always. Urqhart is really an impressive player and is a great example of how a defensive player can still contribute a ton on offense. I hope I might get to play on a line with him one day because he is really just an amazing player.

GOALIE GOALIE GOALIE!

With the high-scoring sims we have seen as of late, 3 goals allowed is nothing to be ashamed of, especially for a team who has been offensively hot, 3 goals allowed can get you some wins. Kit Kirkstone also had a .906 save percentage with his 29 saves, which shows he did really have to work to just keep it to 3. For a season that could be considered "rough" for our goalies, it is great to see games like this. We also have the young rookie coming in who can hopefully continue to develop because Kit's development has stopped.

Game 11
Top Performer - Victor Fedorov (Center)

Victor, Victor, Victor, defensive stud, passing expert, and occasional goal artist. He has a defensive game to remember and still was able to score a point. His point came on an assist early on and his offensive grade was a 67 which is pretty good. His defense is where he was outstanding though with a defensive grade coming in at an 89! He might have only had a blocked shot and a hit but he was everywhere. Every time you turned your head, they had the puck, and Victor was right in front of them. He was like good security, always knowing where everyone is at all times. Victor is really an amazing athlete and very fast for his size. I have always enjoyed watching him play and sad the odds are, I will never be on the same line as him, due to age difference.

Another Gucci Gucci Defensive Performance
Gucci is just amazing at this point. He had 4 blocked shots and I am not even surprised. He posted a 79 defensive grade and I think he ever deserved higher. Such a young player who is always killing it on the defensive side of the ice. I know he has had his offensive slump despite a large number of shots but he makes up with it, with his defense. I am glad he is in my class because, in a few years, he will be the one saving me and my poor defense. Might even be able to sneak me a few assists.

Golden Shower Award
The golden shower award goes to the player who earns the most "Player of the Day" honors throughout the season. Every time a player wins Player of the Day they get 1 point added to their total. Top Performers don't get any type of points because I am trying to avoid giving Players of the Day any top performers even though in most cases they would win 2-3 of them for the day.

1. Xavier Doom (Center) - 3

2. Pavel Kharlamov (Right Wing) - 2
T-3.Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Right Wing) - 1
T-3. Jack Lewis (Goalie) - 1
T-3. Zbynek Dobrovsky (Right Wing) - 1
T-3. Hunter Sharpe (Left Wing) - 1
