How the S45 Blowup of the Seattle Riot, lead to Tampa'a Bays Rebuild under Trella

This time for Seattle, was a rough one to say the least. The former GM, Samee, tried to turn the team into a contender, and in S43 acquired players to try to make that push. Seattle did make it to the playoffs, only to fall to LAP in the 1st round. After that Samee stepped down, and StaticShocked took over for a season, trying to navigate the hopeless situation, decided to trade off and get value from the players. These are the trades that follows
10/24/2018 SEA/TEX
Seattle Acquires: WKP S45 1st, SEA S45 3rd Texas Acquires: Liam O’Callaghan http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=90167 When Liam was active, he was traded at a good deal, a S39 player that was at 1124 TPE, only 5 seasons into the league, getting a 1st and a 3rd was a decent value return. Liam played 6 seasons(300GP) for Texas, amassing 60 goals and 170 assist for 230 points, which is great for a defenseman. He was also nommed twice for the Scott Stevens Trophy, and had a career high 47 points in S47. Then Texas traded Liam away on 9/20/19 to Winnipeg Jets for a NOLA S52 1st[Noah Nystrom] and NEW S50 2nd[Bjorn Leppanen]. Nystrom didnt work out, but Bjorn Leppanen certainly did, and is actually their GM now, so I’d say that worked out well for Texas in total. So what did Seattle Receive; they got their 3rd round pick back, which they traded away. But the main focus was the S45 1st, which happened to be 13th OA, as West Kendall made it to the finals that season. Yet they didn't pick a player in that spot, instead they traded that pick away to acquire their GM, JSS. JSS was hired as the head GM for Tampa Bay, and in order to get his player, this was the trade that occurred, it also happened to be a 3 way trade 12/7/2018 SEA/BUF/HAM
Seattle Acquires: Flacko Lagerfield, Cash Savage Buffalo Acquires: Oliver Konig, SEA S47 3rd[Wibbly McButternutz] Hamilton Acquires: Alexander Zajac, WKP S45 1st[Traded to WPG] http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=91012 So from this Seattle gets JSS’s player, Flacko Lagerfield and Cash Savage. Buffalo gets Oliver Konig from Hamilton, and a 3rd from Seattle. Oliver Konig played 5 seasons for Buffalo producing 212 points in 250 GP. Wibbly McButternutz never panned out to a good player. Hamilton gets Alexander Zajac finished his career in Hamilton getting 154 points in 200 GP, so that was a decent get for Hamilton. That S45 1st they traded to WPG turned into Slip McScruff for Winnipeg, and in return they get WPG S45 1st and WPG S46 3rd, which was both traded, and is a conversation for another day. Then another branch occurs, JSS steps down from the Tampa Bay Barracuda, as he rebranded Seattle. MCP becomes the GM for Tampa Bay now, in a position where they are declining, so he decides to sell. The 2nd trade he made was to trade his former GM, JSS, to Hamilton. 1/17/20
Tampa Bay Acquires: HAM S53 1st[Valentín Kalashnikov] Hamilton Acquires: Flacko Lagerfield, TBB S53 3rd[Kriss Darzins] https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=102660 This deal works out for both teams. Flacko thrived in Hamilton, becoming a beast in FHM, helping Hamilton lead to challenge cup, among other things. Tampa Bay on the other hand, trades Valentin Kalashnikov is traded 3 months later to Baltimore Platoon for this 4/11/20
Baltimore Acquires: Valentin Kalashinikov(500k Retained by TBB for S53) Tampa Bay Acquires: Ziggy Tambo, WKP S56 1st[Vladmir Petrov], WKP S58 2nd[Hunter Sharpe] https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=105310 This is a good deal for Tampa Bay. For trading away a great player to Baltimore, they received Ziggy Tambo, who is inactive, but they also received a reddit 1st and a 2nd, turning into Vladmir Petrov, who is on the roster of Tampa Bay Today, and Hunter Sharpe, who is a promising prospect for them. And that ends that trade tree for the first trade that Static Shocked Made
Tampa Bay Acquired:
Cash Savage Flacko Lagerfield(6 seasons) Ziggy Tambo Vladmir Petrov Hunter Sharpe Tampa Bay Lost: Valentín Kalashnikov(traded for Vladmir Petrov & Hunter Sharpe) Liam O’Callaghan Alexander Zajac WKP S45 1st TBB S53 3rd[Kriss Darzins] The second trade StaticShocked made was 4 days later on
10/28/18
Seattle Acquired: Ace Redding, EDM S45 1st[Nolan Sawchuk] Edmonton Acquired: DeMaricus Smyth, MAN S47 2nd[Borůvka Banananák] http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=90319 Seattle trades away another S39 young gun in DeMaricus Smyth, and a 2nd to get Ace Redding and a 1st. For Seattle, Ace Redding is a regression player that swaps cap for Edmonton, but the main focus was the S45 1st, which turned into Nolan Sawchuk. Edmonton acquires DeMaricus Smyth, who helped them lift the cup before moving to New Orleans, and Banananak was a good 3rd liner for Edmonton and provided good depth. For this trade, both of what Seattle acquired was traded in one way or another, so lets start with Ace Redding, who was traded away as apart of a cap swap in order to get different players.
1/18/19
Tampa Bay Receives: Kevin Kazarian, David Fantobens Texas Receives: Ace Redding, TEX S48 2nd[Patrick Niederreiter], WKP S46 5th[Traded to WPG] http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=92632 There really isnt too much to say on this trade, the main 2 people who are important is David Fantobens and Patrick Niederreiter. David Fantobens finished his career in Tampa Bay, playing in 350 games and having 224 points, which puts him at 19th of all time points in Tampa Bay History. Patrick Niederreiter played in 141 games for Texas, having 54 wins, 70 losses, and 6 OTL with a .905 SV%. Kevin Kazarian and Ace Redding played for a season or two for their teams and then went to different teams. The bigger trade of the 2 is for Nolan Sawchuk 5/13/20
Tampa Bay Receives: CHI S55 1st[Igor Victory], CHI S56 1st[KnockedOut ByOvechkin], CHI S54 3rd[Devin Williams], BUF S54 3rd[Pass] Chicago Receives: Nolan Sawchuk(500k retained), Gunnar Soderberg https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=106235 Both trades works out well for both parties. The first part is Chicago receiving 2 very good players that allowed them to eventually win a cup. Sawchuck only played 2 seasons on Chicago, getting 77 points in 100 GP, and Gunnar Soderberg being a major impact player for Chicago. For Tampa Bay, they received right now, 1 roster player, and 1 prospect to turn player next season. Igor Victory is the major player that Tampa Bay acquired from this, was the player is almost at 1k TPE, and wearingabear is a great user as well. KnockedOUt ByOvechkin isnt the great TPE earner, but 700 TPE will be good to continue off of as he makes his pro debut assumingly next season. From that that is the 2nd trade StaticShocked that helped shaped Tampa’s Bay Future today. Tampa Bay Acquired:
Ace Redding(2 Seasons) Nolan Sawchuk(7 Seasons) Kevin Kazarian(1 Seasons) David Fantobens(7 Seasons) Igor Victory KnockedOut ByOvechkin Devin Williams Tampa Bay Lost: DeMaricus Smyth MAN S47 2nd[Borůvka Banananák] Ace Redding TEX S48 2nd[Patrick Niederreiter] WKP S46 5th[Traded to WPG] Nolan Sawchuk(500k retained) Gunnar Soderberg Now the final trade that StaticShocked made was the last blow to Seattles playoff push, and it had huge returns. 11/21/18
Seattle Acquired: Aaron Freakin Rome, Cam Oullette, TEX S46 1st[Matt Kholin], TEXS47 1st[Espen Knutsen Jr] Texas Acquired: Louie Garrett This is a big trade for Texas, acquiring both Liam O’Callaghan and Louie Garret by Seattle. This one though, was the bigger of the 2, as Garrett was hitting his peak seasons. Louie Garrett played in 204 games and had 229 points! Which is over a PPG, which is great in STHS. The future HOF was dealt to Buffalo in S48 at the trade deadline. For Seattle now, Aaron Freaking Rome didnt pan out, and Cam Oullette was a stop gap on the roster. The big gets were the 2 1sts, 1 of them being a conditional that worked out, as Garrett was re-signed by Texas. So Seattle got Matt Kholin and Espen Knutsen Jr. Knutsen Jr busted out, but Matt Kholin was a major hit for Seattle, being a great user and player. But those came to the end when he was traded away. 5/4/2020
Tampa Bay Acquires: Zoltan Topalo, WPG S54 2nd[Elwulf Jericson], BUF S55 1st[Jöörgüštrâäd DuBølk], BUF S56 2nd[Boris Petrov] Buffalo Acquires: Matt Kholin https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=105935 Buffalo gets Matt Kholin, who is a great player for them, being an elite forward that helped them win a cup. Totally worth it for Buffalo on that end. Tampa Bay gets Zoltan Topalo who is now on their roster, Elwulf Jericson who is a semi-active but is still on their roster, Joorgustraad DuBolk who is also on their roster, as well as Boris Petrov who is inactive now. This is a major get for Tampa Bay.
So for this trade tree,
Tampa Bay Acquired: Aaron Freakin Rome (IA) Cam Oullette Matt Kholin(6 Seasons) Zoltan Topalo Elwulf Jericson Jöörgüštrâäd DuBølk Boris Petrov (IA) Tampa Bay Lost: Louie Garrett Matt Kholin So in total Tampa Bay Acquired from those 3 initial trades
Tampa Bay Acquired: Cash Savage Flacko Lagerfield(6 seasons) Ziggy Tambo Vladmir Petrov Hunter Sharpe Ace Redding(2 Seasons) Nolan Sawchuk(7 Seasons) Kevin Kazarian(1 Seasons) David Fantobens(7 Seasons) Igor Victory KnockedOut ByOvechkin Devin Williams Aaron Freakin Rome (IA) Cam Oullette Matt Kholin(6 Seasons) Zoltan Topalo Elwulf Jericson Jöörgüštrâäd DuBølk Boris Petrov (IA) Tampa Bay Lost: Valentín Kalashnikov(traded for Vladmir Petrov & Hunter Sharpe) Liam O’Callaghan Alexander Zajac WKP S45 1st TBB S53 3rd[Kriss Darzins] DeMaricus Smyth MAN S47 2nd[Borůvka Banananák] Ace Redding TEX S48 2nd[Patrick Niederreiter] WKP S46 5th[Traded to WPG] Nolan Sawchuk(500k retained) Gunnar Soderberg Louie Garrett Matt Kholin From that they now have on their roster or in their system: Vladmir Petrov Hunter Sharpe Igor Victory KnockedOut ByOvechkin Zoltan Topalo Elwulf Jericson Jöörgüštrâäd DuBølk And thats the story that was told. The trades that StaticShocked made, turned into good picks for Tampa Bay, and then sold again, for this Tampa Bay Barracuda to Rise Again. ![]() Registered Certified Swiss Cheese ![]() Registered ambacas
