**DOUBLE MEDIA**

The Colorado Raptors entered the Season 59 SMJHL draft with a gigantic chip on their shoulder and left with another batch of sure-fire studs that bring them a step closer to the Four Stars Cup Finals.

Aggressive moves in the Season 58 draft left Colorado without a 2nd round pick, but that didn’t stop co-general managers @LordBirdmanand @Jumbobone19 from adding solid young players to fill gaps created by SHL call-ups.

With their first pick, Colorado selected Gonzo Gobbledygook (@tweedledunn) at 7th overall. A 6’4, 240-pound stud, Gonzo enters the fray from Norway, where his aggressive, two-way skills are much-needed in Denver. Lack of physicality on the offensive end was evident for the Raptors in Season 58, a flaw that saw them struggle to finish some games in the 3rd periods. Gonzo will look to remedy that with his above-average positioning and sound read ability. Not to mention, Gobbledygook can fire absolute rockets on net.

In Round 3, the Raptors added more size long the wing with Eric Tokke (@Graydonsanatomy). A 6’6, 244-pound Swede, Tokke adds strength and big-hit ability to bench this entered the offseason with plans to better protect and open up the ice for danglers like KEKW Kekkonen and Fedor Sotakov. Tokke made it known during pre-draft interviews that he is focused on winning a championship in the SMJHL and believes defense is what will make it happen for Colorado. Time will tell.

Colorado made their first to two picks in Round 4 by selecting defenseman Karl Detloff (@Scheetzzy) at pick 39. A solid passer and puck-handler that hails from Germany, Detloff joins a depth chart that might be reeling from the potential call-up of Ruggs McOooh. “The kid has wheels,” said one SMJHL Scout. “…wheels and he seems to always find himself in the right place on the top end to make set up chances for the forwards”.

Josiah Hansen (@jjhansen was handed the Raptor-blue sweater at pick 42. Hansen is a puck-moving defenseman from Regina, Canada that adds much-needed depth to the Colorado blue line. Hansen was a very late addition to the Season 59 draft class, but quickly moved up draft boards after his recent private workout left scouts in awe over his speed and passing skills.

Goalie Alexander Rask (@Unknownminion1806) was Colorado’s 5th round selection at pick 54. Rask is another very new player in the Season 59 draft class that impressed scouts in recent workouts. Rask is a smaller, reaction-style goalie that hails from Canada. He is expected to enter an intense battle at Raptors training camp where rumor has it coaches are unhappy with current backup Tyrone Banks.
