It’s that time of season again, where we officially declare the leadership in St. Louis!

With the departure of Doom to the SHL, we’ll need a new Captain and a new Assistant Captain.

First off, we’re also adding an Officially Unofficial Locker Room A that is optional for each season, and whose first dibs goes to our goalie. We’ve done this before unofficially, but it’ll be nice to put a name to it. Goalies’ Rights!
Naturally as our goalie, the title goes to Iorek Byrnison!

Secondly comes our new A2. We did things a little differently this season. With activity at a new high in the locker room, it only felt right to open the selection of the new leader to the team. Where previously the decision has been mostly up to me and my Co-GM, this season we held a team vote, and we got good feedback! It’s definitely encouraging for the next time we’ll need to choose new leaders!
We got a lot of votes for many different players, especially Lebron Brady and Ethan Bouchard, but one name tallied quite a bit higher. This player excelled defensively last season, despite having been thrown into the deep end of high minutes early on. They’re a leader in their class for TPE and returning after having been drafted high in the S59 SHL Draft. We’re pleased to welcome Dane von Gucci as our Second Assistant Captain for the S59 season!

Our first alternate is returning from last season, where he was our second alternate. This player has made a name for himself around our locker room as a part of our third line that made up so much of our offensive production last season. As one of our great pick-ups in the S58 class, we’re really excited with how he’s grown in recent seasons! We’re excited to welcome back Hunter Sharpe as our First Assistant Captain!

Finally, our Captain. This player has been a foundational part of the rebuild of both our team and the community around it since he came in as a DFA in S56. He's always has at least one kind word, and he's constantly stoking our spirits through high and low. While part of our vote did cover the captaincy, I can't think of another person on our roster who has been as vocal and proud a Scarecrow as this player has been since he arrived. Thank goodness it's only his third season, so we should still have him for next season as well! The Scarecrows are delighted to promote and welcome our Captain:
