Star-Light: S59 Simulation Day 13
#1

Good afternoon, Star Gang! It is I, your Keyboard Warrior, bringing you the day that was in the Simulation Hockey League. The North Stars find themselves with a twenty, six, and three record coming into today's sim, good for fourth in the Great Lakes Division, trailing the Buffalo Stampede by two points. There are two games on the slate for today's sim, one versus the Chicago Syndicate and the Tampa Bay Barracuda. The Syndicate have been slipping of late and are in danger of losing the second-place spot to the Stampede, meaning it is important the North Stars put the boots to them and come out on top.

And that is what our boys in blue did. Unfortunately, it was a three-point game as it took a shootout to decide the victors in this one, as the North Stars earned their two points two to one. Still, the North Stars need all the points they can get, and as long as they keep earning more than the bad guys, we can't really complain, can we? Shots were thirty-two to twenty-six in favor of the Syndicate, the visitors for today's game, and hits were also in their favor twenty-six to eighteen. Once again, the North Stars coughed up the puck a bunch, but Harry Carpet was there to shut the door on our hated rivals. Luffy Richard finished with a shot on goal and a missed shot as well as two blocked shots, so my roommate was out there using his face to stop the puck with the grace and elegance of a ballerina.

The North Stars took the next game with the same score of two to one. This time, the Toronto North Stars visited muggy, disgusting, and awful Florida to fight with the eighties colored fighting fish, the mighty Barricuda's who are struggling mightily this season. The North Stars outshot the Barrucadas thirty-two to twenty-nine but were outhit twenty to eleven.  Our boys really need to up the aggression and work on holding on to the puck more. Luffy Richard finished a plus-one with a giveaway so I will be spending the ride home making fun of him for doing the one thing the team is asking him to do--hold on to the damn puck.

The North Stars finish the sim tied with Buffalo at forty-seven points, but the Stampede keep their third place position by virtue of them having a game in hand. Tomorrow will be a critical day for the North Stars. Will they overtake their rivals, or continue to play catch-up?

Until next time,

Shine On!
