You just played out your very first season in the SMJHL to start a new 

chapter in your career. Overall, how would you say you performed in your

rookie season? Did you meet expectations you set for yourself 

individually? What do you need to improve on for next season?

Requirements: 150+ words.

My very first season in the SMJHL was a bit disappointing for my player. While I didn't hope to win the cup with Anaheim this year, I hoped to have more luck in the playoffs. After finishing 8th place in the regular season, I was confident that we could win a series or two, but we didn't even win a game. My player also underperformed in both the regular season and the playoffs as well. In the playoffs I only had 4 shots on goal in 4 games, only scored one point and my +/- was at -5. In the regular season, at least my point differential was at +13, so I met my expectations there. I was able to get some good defensive stats as well, but I only scored 8 goals all season, which is far below what I was aiming at. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement for me and the team in the next season.

So your team just got eliminated these playoffs, and have to look 

forward to next season where hopefully things go differently. What does 

your team have to be excited about for next season, where they'll have 

another go at the coveted 4-star cup?

After the disappointing early exit in the playoffs, the Anaheim Outlaws can start preparing very early for the next season. There are lots of things the team needs to improve, but there are also some things the Outlaws can build on. In the regular season, the team finished exactly at .500 with 68 points and a goal differerential of -18. That's already a great improvement compared to the season before, where Anaheim only reached 46 points with a win rate of 0.348 and a goal differential of -90. Both the offense and defense really improved that season and the team got a lot of young talent that should continue that trend next year. Currently the team has 3 users in the Top 10 in earning for the S60 class and all those guys should be at their first cap at 350 TPE in the next season. The team also got several older players who have hit their junior league cap and won't be called up, so I would expect Anaheim to finish above .500 next season!

D. We've been talking about the playoffs, but it's performance 

throughout the season that helped get our finalists into the playoffs. 

Who was the key player to success for either team (or both) during the 

regular season and why?

For me the key player for the Kelowna Knights to get to the finals was Center Cian McFelter who played a great regular season. He almost had the highest points (just 1 below leader Pablo Salvatici) and he finished the season with a point differential of 30. He lead his team on and outside the field and played a huge role for them to finish with 49 wins and 102 points!
