(2x Draft Week) (2x First Post?) - Player Bio - Pudge Gortz
#1

(First media post)

Prospect: Pudge Gortz
Position: Left Defensemen
Height: 6ft 3in
Weight: 205 lbs
Born: Sudbury, Canada

A first generation Canadian, his parents having relocated to Canada from Sweden, grew up with Ice in his veins and skates on his feet. His father, Runda Gortz, was a successful professional hockey player in his native country, but not quite talented enough to make the cut in the SHL. After his retirement, Runda relocated to Sudbury Canada with hopes of working in the SHL as a player scout.

Ever since Pudge could stand, he was also in skates. Growing up around the ice rinks through his childhood, Pudge was always noticeably bigger than those of his own age. He quickly got the eyes of junior scouts and was making waves when his slap shot topped 80 miles per hour at the age of 12. His robust frame and large size allowed Pudge to hold his own against older competition and became one of the best defenseman in his junior years. A quiet introvert, Pudge prides himself in being the silent leader in the room, leading by example.

His shot is his staple, and his drive is to have the hardest shot ever recorded in the SHL. With the guidance of his father, he is hopeful that whichever SMJHL take a chance on him provides him with the best opportunity to become the greatest player he can be.... and selfishly, has his sights on breaking the 120 miles per hour mark never set before.

Pudge has his sights on S61 of the SHL draft, but knows a year in the SMJHL is what it takes to get there!
