What is Deep Dive? It is an opportunity for SMJHL ROOKIES ONLY to explore any aspect of a player/players or team/teams in depth. Guidelines are as follows:

• You must hit 500 words in an article to receive 5 TPE;
  
• You may write up to 2 articles per season;
  
• You may write about any team in the League, SHL or SMJHL;
  
• You may also write about any subject that involves a couple or more players/teams, but in this case, be careful about the following point;
  
• The second article you write must be about a different player/players or team/teams than the ones you wrote about in the first;
  
• Create a New Thread in the Deep Dive section to post your article. Please specify somewhere in the thread title if it is your first or second article - Example "Deep Dive #1 - Title of your Article";
  
• The Deep Dives Team will review your submission to determine if it meets the requirements, and tag you in a new post when it is approved or denied;
  
• Rookies have from the first game of the SMJHL regular season to the end of the SMJHL playoffs to enter their submissions.
  

Here's some example topics, though you are not limited to these. If you have any doubt about the subject, reach out to us:

• Discuss how one team compares to the rest of the league;
  
• Discuss how a team has played in one game, a stretch of games, or the entire season;
  
• Discuss how a team's players will do when they get called up to the SHL. Are there big things in store for them or an they make it at the highest level;
  
• Discuss the preseason and what it might signal for the regular season;
  
• Discuss a team's history. Have they changed their name? Are they one of the newer teams in the league?
  
• Discuss player(s) on a team. Rookie analysis, blueline profile, crease insight, breakdown of one guy's stats, this one has a lot of room for interpretation;
  
• Discuss a team's playoff run. Will they be able to fight their way to the playoffs or what are their odds of winning the Four Star Cup?
  
• Discuss a team's positional strengths and weaknesses;
  
• Discuss what a team will want in the upcoming draft;
  
• Draft analysis;
  
• You read a Deep Dive from another user, from the current season or not, and you want to comment on that? Go right ahead, agree with it, or maybe not, give us your input on it. Don't forget to link the original one on your post. But be advised, don't go and just copy their ideas to get to the 500 words;
  
  Use your imagination, you can pretty much write about anything league related, as long as the text is clear and well written.
