WJC S60 Team DACH Roster Announcement
#1

Germany Austria Switzerland Germany Austria Switzerland Germany Austria Switzerland
Hello everyone! It my privilege and pleasure to announce the DACH roster for this season's WJC!

Forwards:
Friedensreich Hundertwasser ( @Asked Madden )
The old man of the team, Friedensreich enters what is extremely likely to be his last WJC tournament. Entering his 4th year on the squad, and the Gold Medal-winning OT goal scorer from last tournament, Hundertwasser enters the tournament as one of the most celebrated players in the DACH conglomerate's history.

Kermit Murphy ( @notorioustig )
Last tournament's Brady McIntyre award winner for tournament MVP, Murphy led the charge as pivot on a dominant 3rd line that had a GA/60 of a miniscule 0.7 and a GF/60 of 4.5, dominating puck possession and physicality in a masterful performance that earned him top honours. Back again to bring the pain, 2/3rds of the line is still intact, and look for a continuation of Murphy's high tempo game.

Paul Binder ( @CaptainCamel )
The reliable two-way force returns, likely on the top line this time around, to bring a balanced threat to a DACH team that excelled on puck possession last tournament. Tied for 2nd in DACH RR scoring with 10 points in 12 games, Binder looks to add to his impressive PPG totals in a DACH jersey.

Cormac Ponaire ( @wumaduce )
Playing on a deep squad these last couple of seasons, Ponaire has ground down opponents from the 4th line, and his hard work has paid off, as he anticipates an increase in minutes this tournament. Ponaire had ZERO goals against while he was on the ice during the Round Robin phase.last tournament, so expect his defensive play to be on display for this one as well.

Miguel Hefeweizen ( @ZootTX )
My Co-GM from last season, my Scarecrow AND Pride buddy, Zoot celebrated a Gold Medal win as a GM AND as a player. Hefeweizen scored a team-leading 7 goals in 12 games during the RR last tournament, as well as 2 goals and 3 points in the 3 playoff games for DACH. A young star in the making, look for Hefeweizen to have increased responsibility on the ice.

Marco Barengrub ( @gaby )
Another 1/3rd of the dominant 3rd line from last season. Barengrub was a defensive specialist, and will be tasked with doing so again, although perhaps finally at his natural center position. Playing on the wing last tournament stifled his offensive upside a bit, but a 0.7 GA/60 was nothing short of amazing for the high amount of minutes the line was tasked with.

High Haschdi ( @Highhaschdi )
The youngest player for DACH last tournament, Haschdi appeared in 6 RR games, making the most of the opportunity to show off his offensive prowess, scoring 2 goals. This tournament, expect him to play every game this time around, and in a largely increased role, as Haschdi has only picked up his game to another High level since.

Robot Sunfish ( @yonggarius )
The powerful skater displayed toughness and physicality last season on a defensively responsibility 4th line while chipping in 3 assists in 9 games in the RR, as well as a goal and an assist in the playoff round. An increased role will give the scrappy Sunfish more chances to show his offensive upside in addition to his strong defensive play.

Makrus “the Tater” Jager ( @taterswc )
The 4th line pivot from last tournament enters his 3rd WJC, and 2nd with DACH. Looking to carve out ice time on a team currently rich with centers is nonmean feat, but Jager's defensive play and face off acumen have more than earned him a larger cut.

J.J. James Jamerson Angler ( @tMuse )
A co-winner for Rookie of the Tournament last year while playing for team Young Guns, Angler now lends his incredible talent to his home squad with DACH after making the cut. His offensive talent will be put to good use on the typically more physical-minded DACH team.

Gerry Atrick ( @MrRuihu )
A transfer over from Sweden, Atrick will make himself right at home in a top role in DACH's deep forward core. Tied for the top-scoring player on Sweden last tournament, Atrick now lends his offensive acumen and reliable and fast-paced play to DACH.

Konstantin Selich ( @Tomen )
Finally, we reach the first of two forwards to make thier debut for DACH and the WJC as a whole. Konstantin Selich has SHL star blood in his veins, and even on a team loaded with Centers, has earned himself a look in his first year of WJC eligibility, albeit likely on the wing for this tournament.

Petra Sabor ( @petralikesbaseball )
The second and final WJC rookie to make the forward cut for DACH is the young Swiss forward Petra Sabor. An emerging star on a young and recently-champions Kelowna Knights squad, Petra looks to bring a reliable two-way game to the 4th line for this tournament, and gets to show off their best skills prior to the SHL draft.

Defense:
Narboza Manyhands ( @nyumbayangu )
The resident alien of the Vancouver Whalers and my soon-to-be teammate on the San Francisco Pride, it will be bittersweet knowing that this is Manyhands' last tournament for DACH, as excited as I am to see them in the SHL next season. Manyhands played the most minutes out of any DACH player for their gold-medal performance last season, and will again be tasked with maintaining their stellar two-way play over big minutes this tournament.

Dane Von Gucci ( @gucci )
In their 3rd season on DACH, von Gucci will finally get top minutes as a defenseman, being stuck behind an amazing blue line for the last two tournaments. Even with limited time, Von Gucci still scored 6 points in 12 RR games, and will likely quarterback the team on the PP this tournament as well.

Sabarro Torretta ( @santej29 )
This player just wins. Gold with Finland in the S58 tournament as a rookie, Gold with DACH last season...back-to-back Golds is currently something that no active WJC player can brag of except for Torretta. This time, they take another step up in minutes, and will look to take their high scoring game to the next step with their quest for a personal three-peat.

Marcel Beck ( @By-Tor)
While By-Tor is GMing another team this tournament, his player Beck will be back for DACH once again. Looking to play increased minutes, Beck has already excelled with limited time, netting 5 assists in last tournament's RR and boasting a 4.7 GF/60, good for second on the team (only behind blueline partner Torretta).

Alfred Yankovic ( @katarn22 )
Just barely missing the cut last season and appearing on Team Young Guns, Yankovic comes home to represent DACH for the first time. After last tournament's departures at blueline with a large graduating class, Yankovic will step into bigger minutes right off the bat.

Jannik Nordstern ( @KlusteR )
The first of three WJC rookies on DACH's blueline this tournament, Nordstern is near the top of their class for TPE and looking to continue the long trend of top talent Swiss defenders. In addition to appearing gor DACH as a player, KlusteR will be GMing for an opposing team, also like By-Tor

Sebastian Weiss ( @dylanjj37 )
Another tournament for my old Co-GM dylanjj37, and despite Weiss being a rookie for the tournament, Dylan is one of the most tenured users for team DACH. Despite being Austrian instead of Swiss this time, I'm glad he decided to stay in the DACH fold overall, as I'm pretty sure this will be his 3rd player that I've GMed for over the years.

Hans Graf ( @Drokeep )
Another rookie for the WJC, and another situation where I have a defenseman who is GMing an opposing team (seriously, 3 of my blueliners are GMing other teams!). Drokeep has stepped up for the UCORCAL head GM spot, but for this tournament at least the impressive rookie Hans Graf will be doing his home nation of Germany proud.

Goalies:
Iorek Byrnison ( @Mooty99 )
The Goaltender of the Tournament Award winner from last season, Byrnison makes his triumphant return after winning the crease last season, leading the overall tournament in wins and shutouts and backstopping DACH through their Gold-medal playoff performance

Benjamin Blue II ( @BoucherFan12 )
Blue II returns after splitting time with Byrnison last season, boasting a 3-1-1 record to start his WJC career. Looking to backup Byrnison this season, DACH once again counts it's blessings for having two excellent options in net for the last few tournaments.

Congratulations to everyone who made the team!
