The first ever draft pick for the Regina Elk has started off his professional career with a bang. Despite being new to the league, he has put up impressive numbers with them being almost a point a game, despite playing on the second line and getting very little powerplay time. Him and his line mates, Sam Siege and Barry Benson, are currently often being deployed going up against the other teams second line; but they have been out preforming the competition on the ice, as shown by most heavily by the plus minus stat. His line mate Barry Benson has 9 pts overall, keeping on pace with Jones, and Sam Siege has been the goal scorer of the line, with 5 currently. These two older players should continue to help Jones make his way in the league, and this powerful trio could be a force to reckon with in the upcoming years.
Jaeger Jones isn’t just all offensive though, as he was highly sought-after for his defensive ability, not just for his offensive. Its actually quite rare to find a player this perfectly balanced on both sides of the ice, so early into their career. Rookies are often seen struggling at either one end or the other during their first year. Additionally, rookies often struggle adjusting to playing against older opponents, as moves used to work for the rookies don’t anymore against these stronger opponents, but this hasn’t been the case for Jones. His well-balanced game is complex, but simple, and he plays like a professional, not replying on cheap tricks and actually competing hard into the dirty areas.

Jaeger Jones currently profiles as a two way forward, one who excels in both aspects of the game; he has very little weaknesses to his game, and is one of the most well-rounded prospects to come out of the college systems in a while. Jaeger Jones game rankings are actually almost exactly the same, with his OGR being 60 and his DGR being 58. Offensively, Jones likes to park his 6ft 3 frame in front of the net and using his screening abilities to block the goalie’s vision. Defensively, Jones uses his strength, checking ability, and ability to be in the right place at the right time in order to shutdown scoring opportunities before they even happen.

Overall, Jaeger Jones has started off his career strong, which is exactly what the Regina Elk were hoping for from their first pick as a franchise. Jones also has the bank roll to continue receiving top of the line training every season. His versatility, work effort, and skill will help Jaeger Jones towards having a long and successful career.
