Star-Light: S61 Day 8
#1

Good afternoon, Star Gang. It is I, your Keyboard Warrior bringing you the day that was in the Simulation Hockey League. The season has not been the best for the Toronto North Stars, but neither has it been the worst. They are hanging around and hope the right the ship as we enter they put a third of the season behind them. There is a lot of hope in the North Stars locker room, and they believe their play will improve, and so does this reporter!

The first game sees the North Stars visit the Montreal Patriots and they greeted their hosts with a six to one beat down. The North Stars put forty-two shots on goal to the Patriots twenty-five. The North Stars, however, were outhit nineteen to twelve. Luffy Richard was a ghost on the ice, playing poorly, but not hampering the efforts of his teammates. With a score like this, you would like to see him get on the scoreboard, block a few shots, hit someone, basically do anything other than having his name flash on the screen every once in a while.

The second game sees the Winnipeg Aurora take a jaunty trip to Toronto just to get stomped on seven to nothing. The Toronto North Stars put an impressive sixty-seven shots on goal while limiting the Aurora to ten shots. That might be a season-best for the league, and historians might want to take a deep dive and see if that is a league record. In a surprising twist, especially considering how much the North Stars had the puck, Winnipeg was outhit twenty-five to fourteen. Luffy Richard joined in on the ground and pound with two assists. He was a plus-one with four shots on goal, so he was letting out his frustration on the goalie. Hopefully next time, one of those shots will go in.

Up next is the toughest opponent the North Stars will face today in the Baltimore Platoon. Though it was a close one, the visiting Platoon score two goals in the third period to take the game three to one. Baltimore outshot the North Stars forty-two to twenty-nine but were edged out in hits eighteen to sixteen. Luffy Richard had an assist and was a neutral plus-minus while collecting four penalty minutes and a hit. Both of Luffy Richard's penalties occurred in the first period, though he lucked out and no goals resulted from the Baltimore powerplay. so Luffy owes his penalty-killing buddies.

So four points out of six, with two games being complete blowouts and Luffy Richard had three assists, a much-needed boost to his self-esteem. Luffy Richard's season has not gone well for him as he is underperforming on a North Stars team that is hungry for playoff success. His funk has been a pain at the apartment, but what really hurts is that buried beneath the mediocrity is a player that is a-okay.

Until next time,

Shine On!
