Star-Light: S61 Day 20
#1

Good day, Star Gang! It is I, your ever faithful, somewhat present, Keyboard Warrior here to bring you the day that was in the Simulation Hockey League. Today will be a quick and easy report, so do not be afraid to read this wonderful article as you enjoy a restroom break, or there is a commercial you hate and want something else to take your mind off of it. Well, I am here to service all of you! wait...

Anyways, there are three games on the slate for today's sim. How exciting. We face divisional rivals in the Buffalo Stampede and the New England Wolfpack who have joined the Stampede and Steelhawks in taking a bite out of the North Stars' hopes and dreams. The Montreal Patriots are also on the dance card for today, so this should be fun! or will it?

The first game sees a close contest between the visiting Wolfpack and the North Stars go New England's way with a final score of four to three. The score may have been close but the shots on goal were tilted heavily in favor of the good guys, fifty-three to thirty-two. It is a shame to see the North Stars throw that much rubber at the net and come up short. Toronto took their newly found physical game to the Wolfpack, landing thirty hits to New England's seventeen. Luffy Richard had an assist and a shot on goal to go with two blocked shots and two hits. A decent game, but a little more effort on offense might have helped his team overcome their new rival.

The next game saw the Patriots visit us here in snowy Toronto. This time the end of the story had a happier ending. The final score was three to two with the North Stars putting twenty-nine shots on goal to Montreal's twenty-three. Toronto also had twenty-three hits to the Patriots' nineteen. It is good to see the more physical North Stars, considering how they have been pushed around by the rest of the league the past few seasons. Luffy Richard was a plus-one with a shot on goal, two hits, and a giveaway. He has got to hold on to the puck better, but it is good to see him so active this same, taking the body and blocking shots all over the ice.

The final game of the sim sees a hated rival host our beloved boys in blue, then proceed to be a bunch of rancorous louts that run away with the game five to two. Buffalo put forty-three shots on goal to Toronto's thirty-one. They also outhit the North Stars eighteen to sixteen. This one hurts, especially since the North Stars are in dire need of some points. Luffy Richard had an assist, a shot on goal, two blocked shots, two hits, and a giveaway. A solid game where he did not seem to make too many blunders, but he still could not help his team to victory.

Two weak sims in a row have the Toronto Locker room in the dumps, but there is still some fighting spirit within them. With the end of the season looming, the North Stars will have to have a strong showing for the rest of the week to get themselves in a more favorable position. I know it is easy to get down and give up, but the North Stars have never done so! They fight tooth and claw to the very end, even when there is no hope. But we have hope here, Toronto faithful, so make your voices heard so that our boys in blue know that their city is behind them.

until next time,

Shine On!
