S62 DFA Bounties #4 - The Alternate Timeline
#1

The SMJHL finals have just concluded, and we're slowly closing in on the off-season and SMJHL draft.

Before the real busy season starts, and you're going to be answering scouting messages from every team, it is time to sit back and relax a little. Dreaming about how your life would've looked without hockey.

Written Task: What would your player be doing now, if he or she hadn't pursued a career in hockey? (250 word min.) Graphic Task: Show us a picture of your player, doing what they'd do if they weren't a hockey player.

Reward: $500,000 for doing one of the above

Only current SMJHL Draftable Free Agents (S63 SMJHL Draftees, SHL class of S64) are eligible for this bounty.
There is no need to claim this anywhere. After grading the money should pop up in your account 'automatically'.
Deadline: Sunday, January 2nd @ 11:59pm EST

If my player had not pursed a career in hockey in the simulation hockey league, they would probably be trying to go pro in another sport of their choosing. As a kid, Johnny Patey was very good at a multitude of sports but out of the love of the sport of hockey, he chose to pursue it over the others.

As a kid, Johnny Patey was actually much better at other sports like baseball and football but once he got into the college scene, he either had to choose to go semi pro by playing college hockey at Boston College or going semi pro by declaring for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMHJL) draft. Or, the other option being go pro in baseball by choosing whatever school he wanted as he was one of the top prospects around.

As he grew into those college ages, his dad was an ex hockey pro tallying up a couple hundred points in his career so Johnny always wondered if it was worth it to go pro and have a 3rd liner career, or try and join a top tier baseball college and potentially become a future 1st round draft pick of a majors team.

This is 100% what Johnny would have been doing if he had not pursued the career he currently has. Will he regret this decision in the future? He's still not sure but at the end of his career, we will surely find out. This will depend on how successful he is with all of his stats and obviously how much career earnings he will make.
