SHL GM pure of heart, dumb of ass
[1072 words, ready for grading]
Explanation: I'm planning to recreate in a few seasons, and I think I have a fairly good idea of what I want to do for my next player. I do want to try and get more into the RP angle for this player, so I figured I'd talk about some of the players I either might do or have thought about doing in the past. This is building off my CW prompt where I talked about some of these players. One of the people in this article is likely the real one that I'll end up recreating as, so feel free to guess which one it is! Far-Future Stars: S67 SHL Class Members to Watch
Margus Komarov, RD Team: Leksands IF, Sweden J18 Elit Birthplace: Tallinn, Estonia Height: 6'4" Weight: 203 lbs Shoots: Right Comparables: Moritz Seider, Rasmus Ristolainen Komarov is a big, burly defenseman hailing from the little-known European hockey nation of Estonia. From a young age, Margus Komarov was always a big kid, and was pushed to play basketball by his teachers at school. He was always at home on the ice though, and at the age of 14 he moved across the Baltic Sea to Sweden. His size attracted teams, and he signed with the under-18 club for the Leksands IF hockey club. He's played only sparingly so far while he grows into his frame, and his skating is pretty raw, but you just can't teach the size. SHL and SMJHL scouts cite his skating and agility as a bit of a weaker point for now, and Komarov is on the leaner side for a player of his height, but once he grows into his frame he could become a top-flight defenseman in the SHL. Over the next few seasons, he should get more icetime and potentially join the J20 SuperElit club, and get the opportunity to show off his skills in front of greater competition. Luca DiBenedetti, G Team: EHC Kloten, Swiss League (rights held by Green Bay Gamblers, USHL) Birthplace: Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy Height: 6'1" Weight: 183 lbs Comparables: Roberto Luongo, Tuukka Rask DiBenedetti is the one goaltender on this list, and he's a very intriguing prospect. He hails from a small town in Italy called Cortina d'Ampezzo, which is a winter sports hotbed that hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956. DiBenedetti comes from a big sports family, and they would always be on the ice every winter. As one of the youngest and possibly a little crazy, DiBenedetti would end up tending the goal, but took to it well. As the Italian league isn't as competitive, DiBenedetti also moved countries to Switzerland to get better development, as the little mountain country has a better league. DiBenedetti played as a backup goalie for EHC Kloten in the second-tier Swiss league, and showed enough to be drafted in the USHL draft by the Green Bay Gamblers. He'll get a lot more development and attention from scouts there, and should prove to be a pretty good prospect. He projects to be a strong goalie with attention to positioning and athleticism. Sophie Bordeleau, C Team: high school women's hockey, Trois-Rivieres, QC (committed to Cornell Big Red, Ithaca, NY) Birthplace: Trois-Rivieres, QC Height: 5'8" Weight: 155 lbs Comparable: Brianne Jenner The first woman on this list, Bordeleau is all about offensive production for her Quebec high school club. Playing centre, Bordeleau has excellent vision and playmaking, along with a wicked shot to be a scoring threat when she gets the puck. She also has gotten attention for being active on social media and calling attention to important causes. Bordeleau is openly gay and is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ causes, and has gotten praise from those in her community for amplifying BIPOC and queer voices in the Quebec sporting community. Off-ice advocacy isn't a detractor from her talent either; Sophie Bordeleau is an elite skater who can be a deadly threat when given space in the attacking zone. The one thing scouts will need to see from her is an increased willingness to get physical, as the SHL is a much more grindy league compared to the Quebec high-school scene. Jamie Clayton, LW Team: Sheffield Shadows, English Premier League Birthplace: Liverpool, England Height: 5'7" Weight: 163 lbs Comparable: Marie-Philip Poulin Clayton is an interesting mix to scouts. While she doesn't have the best hands or scoring touch, Jamie Clayton boasts a scrappiness that should lend itself well to life in the physical SHL. She's not afraid to go to the corners to dig out a puck, or go right to the front of the net to jump on a rebound. Being able to bring that grit and physicality to the lineup is something that Taylor has excelled at, but with the lack of games played in the English club system and the obscurity of the British national team, she'll likely have to move to another country to get the attention of scouts. Clayton could follow in the footsteps of Komarov and go to Sweden or Finland, which have a decently-developed system, or even try to go to Canada or the USA. Despite the adversity, Clayton has played in games with men before and held her own, so that bodes well to any future she has in the SHL. Brandon Blackwell, LW Team: Victoria Royals, WHL Birthplace: Kamloops, BC Height: 6'2" Weight: 201 lbs Comparables: Dylan Larkin, Jakub Voracek The cousin of former Dallas Birddogs cornerback Byron Blackwell, Brandon brings many of the traits of his older sibling. The foot speed is there and Blackwell brings a big body and some snarl. The Victoria Royals of the WHL liked what they saw and picked him up in the WHL's bantam draft, and he got into a few games last season as an injury replacement. Scouts like Blackwell's skating and skills with the puck, but would like to see him get better at using his size, which will come better as he gets more experience playing a CHL game. Of the five players on this list, he has probably the highest ceiling of them all and could easily become a superstar in the SHL. It just remains to be seen if he can play as big as his size and learn to become a dominant force. That's all five players for now! We will watch their careers with great interest, and see which ones will have their skills translate to the SHL game.

Again to clarify, none of these players are real (yet). Just figured I'd do a bit of mock prospect analysis on players, one of which I might end up using on my recreate a few seasons down the line. Plus brainstorming names is fun.
The inspiration was: Margus Komarov: combination of two professional Estonian athletes in Margus Hunt and Leo Komarov Sophie Bordeleau, Luca DiBenedetti - ass pulls Jamie Clayton - fan of the show "The Haunting of Bly Manor" Brandon Blackwell - wanted to give my first ISFL player a little bit of life back in the form of a relative
