AJ Williams is an S64 rookie who just recently signed with the Newfoundland Berserkers, the S62 four star cup champions. Signing to a team like this can give you two options: either the team is still as strong as their cup run, or the team has lost their cup winning players and are rebuilding. Newfoundland is the first option, still very strong and deep in their roster. This results in my player, AJ Williams, chilling on the fourth line as one of the weaker players on the team. I will shortly break down all 5 games Williams has played so far this season, and look into the stats a bit.

Game 1 vs QCC
Williams was excited and pumped up for his first regular season in the SMJHL. He arrived early to the game in order to prepare himself. His line started firing quickly and Williams scored two goals early in the first period! He would go pointless for the rest of the game but finish with 2 goals on 4 shots, +2, and 1 hit in a 8-0 win for NL.

Game 2 @ MET

After an impressive first showing, Williams was quiet in his match against Maine, having no points, 1 shot on goal, 0 +/-, and 1 hit in a 5-3 loss. This was the first loss for NL including the pre-season, where they finished with a record of 7-0-0.

Game 3 vs QCC

Once again, NL met up with Quebec and once again they destroyed them. Winning in fashion, this time 5-0. Williams added to his goal total with another goal in the second period. After the first day of sims, the team was 2 - 1 - 0, Williams had 3 goals, +3, and 2 hits to his stat line. Williams has the best shooting % on his team with 37.5%, and only average 9 minutes a game (the third least on his team).

Game 4 @ NBB

After a hot start to the SMJHL season, Williams started to cool off and this was the first game his plus/minus saw a negative, with -2. Despite the rough rating, Newfoundland managed to beat Nevada 4-3 with Williams really not helping out his team much this game.

Game 5 @ GFG

Once again Williams was quiet, having another minus rated game, Williams’ minutes are extremely low. His 4th line got 7 shifts this game and Williams saw 6 minutes on the ice. Either way the Berserkers managed to win 5-4 in OT.

So in 5 games, Williams has recorded:

3 goals, 0 assists, 3 points, 11 shots, 27.3 shooting %, 3 giveaways, 0 takeaways, 3 hits. All of this while playing an average of 8:19 minutes a game and 30 seconds average on the powerplay. For 8 minutes a game, having 3 goals and 11 shots is pretty damn good. Meaning out of the total 41 minutes in 5 games played, Williams averages a goal every 13 minutes, and a shot every 3 minutes. At that rate, if he played just 13 minutes a game, he would have a goal and 4 shots every game. Now obviously that is just averages and playing more minutes will not result in more goals every game, but it is pretty cool to see. Also, NL played QCC twice and combined for 13 goals with 0 against. This obviously factors Williams' stats as he scored all of his goals in those two games. It is tough to see your player get 8 minutes a game on the 4th line while the 3rd line gets double that, but the team is winning and if I keep earning, my minutes will increase.
