I want to thank the entire SHL for being such an amazing place that it is. I've spent the better part of 5 years here, through 3 players (Cloud was shit but he was still my first) and through all that time, I've done a lot. I hosted draft streams and lottos, I've been in J HO for 10 collective seasons, did PT grading, created the Casino, re-wrote the SMJHO rulebook (worst... idea... ever...), Co-GMed Vancouver with @luke way back in the day, Took over the Montreal Patriotes in their time of need, won 2 Four Star Cups and a Challenge Cup, and who the hell knows what else at this point. But I've had a ton of fun in my time here.

That being said, my time here will become VERY limited for the foreseeable future. I've decided that I can no longer sit back and use the SHL/Discord as an escape from problems I have in my real life that I need to address. I've allowed my addiction to my phone/Discord and this league blind me from issues that matter more. I've allowed my mental health take a crap, as well as affected my personal and professional relationships and my work ethic over this league and enough is enough. The amount of time I spend on Discord and my cellphone has become a serious problem, and while discovering why, I realized that a LARGE portion of the time I spend on my phone is related to the SHL and related Discord servers. I have a job I love, a family I adore, a wife I really should spend more time with, and a bunch of pets that would love to get more attention.

As of yesterday, I have resigned all jobs I hold, including the GM of the Montreal Patriotes. While I know this is not ideal for the franchise, I know that it's what I need to do, and I feel good knowing that whoever comes into the position after me will have a solid foundation to work with. I know this might come as a shock to many of you, and for that I apologize. This is not an easy decision for me, but I do know it's is the right one, however difficult it may be. My intent was never to let anyone down or upset anyone by doing this, but if I continue to lead down this path, the person I will let down more is myself.

I will continue to stay in some Discord servers, however my presence there will drop dramatically. I will also continue to update my player, and will work to make sure whoever takes the job after they are hired will have a solid grasp of the current state of the franchise. I want to continue to enjoy the league, but I must do so at a pace that is healthy for me. I cherish the friendships and acquaintances I've made here, and I will not just throw them away. I love so many people I've come into contact here, some for short times, some for so long I can't remember when it started. I'd ping everyone that made a difference in my time here, but I dunno if the site would let me ping that many people. You know who you are, and if you're not sure, you're prolly one of them too!

I hope I've made a positive impact on the league, and for everyone I've had the pleasure of talking to, spending time with, chatting, having fun, or whatever else came up. I won't be disappearing forever, I'll be around. I'll answer your DMs or pings, and though I will be checking my phone only at specific times going forward, I will chat when I can. I hope everyone is happy, safe, healthy, and working towards a better 2022.

Please, if you find that your mental health is taking a hit, help yourself however you can. You matter! Don't do what I did and ignore it, it doesn't get better on it's own... Addiction can be anything, including the internet, your phone, escapism. I know, trust me. My DMs are open if you need to talk or feel the same way. Hell, my DMs are ALWAYS open.

We love you infy. Always here if you need to chat or someone to listen. Sorry to see you step down but completely understand why. You gotta take care of yourself first for sure <3

Love you infi I hope you are able to feel like you are making some improvements in life and find some balance. You deserve to be happy! I hope you say hi in LAP's discord from time to time still I would miss you immensely if not.

Its hard to recognize that the things you enjoy can take away from your mental health and relationships. Good on you for coming to terms with that and being brave enough to act on it. Good luck out there!

even if you were only with us one season, you are fully part of our little owls group. QCC means Family and a owl never leave a owl behind, you'll always be welcome and find support in the locker room if you need it.
